Billy Knight(IV)
Billy Knight played in both the ABA and the NBA during his professional basketball career. He began in the ABA, playing for two seasons (1974 and 1975) for the Indiana Pacers. He stuck with the Pacers for their first seasons in the NBA before brief stints with the Buffalo Braves and Boston Celtics. He returned to Indiana midway through the 1978 season, playing for them until 1983. Four years after he retired from the NBA in 1989, his jersey number was retired by the University of Pittsburgh.
Following his playing career, he served as GM for the Atlanta Hawks from 2002 to 2008, leading them out of a playoff drought by building slowly and surely with young players.
