Vivek encouraged his father to drop the idea of the film when he realized how much money was going to be spent in the film. He did not want his father to spend his life savings for the film.

Their father Jagmohan Oberoi ( Suresh Oberoi's brother) died in a car accident in 1985. The 2 brother's were born from father Jagmohan's first marriage. When their mother passed away, Jagmohan remarried and had 2 more daughter's. Later in life, Prithviraj had directed several TV serials like Tedhe Medhe Sapne, Apnapan etc. He produced the film Khottey Sikkay and Sham Ghanshyam. He recently released a poetry book " Qalam Ke Khatre".
