Daughter Megha debuted as an actress in the 1997 film " Bhai Bhai". Neelam was briefly married to producer, actor,director Shiv Kumar. This was in the late 70's . This Shiv Kumar was a actor who starred in Majboor, Poonam Ki Raat,Hare Kaanch Ki Chudiyaan and first directed the film Brij Bhoomi then Lallu Raam. He also produced Ahinsa in 1979. Neelam cut out her ex husband Shiv Kumar completely from Megha's life. Shiv later remarried to lady named Suman Pathak and had two sons named Ram and Lakhan. Daughter Megha is now known as Megha Sharma and has two daughters. She works at Star Plus India Private Limited as a executive producer.
