From director Simon Otto, the animated feature That Christmas is based on a trilogy of books by the writer of Notting Hill, Love, Actually and more — Richard Curtis.

The title recalls a particularly memorable Christmas for Santa Claus (voiced by Brian Cox) as he recalls having to brave a blizzard with only one of his reindeer Dasher (Guz Khan) in order to deliver some much-needed gifts to the residents of Wellington-on-Sea, who become separated in many ways partially due to the storm. An ensemble cast weaves together in the Christmas story that also features the voices of Fiona Shaw, Bill Nighy, Jodie Whittaker and more.

Katy Perry has opened the portal to her latest studio album 143 with “Woman’s World.”

The video features Perry waterfalling a bottle of “Whisky for Women,” brandishing a hot pink vibrator, and pretending to pee in a urinal all within the first 50 seconds of the song. Elsewhere, she gets crushed under a gigantic anvil and shoves a gas nozzle into her butt to refuel. Trisha Paytas also makes a cameo, pulling a huge monster truck by a rope before driving it with Perry sitting shotgun.

Ahead of the arrival of Katy Perry’s new single “Woman’s World” tomorrow, the singer has revealed the title and release date for her next album.

143 — named after the Nineties pager code for “I love you” — is due out September 20 via Capitol Records. The album marks Perry’s first studio album since her 2020 LP Smile.

“I set out to create a bold, exuberant, celebratory dance-pop album with the symbolic 143 numerical expression of love as a throughline message,” Perry said of the album in a statement.

"Cold Heart" is a remix collaboration with Australian dance music trio Pnau, who worked with John on the 2012 album Good Morning to the Night, which featured new songs created by mixing samples of some of his earlier music. In the first scene of the first episode of “Nikki Fre$h,” Nicole Richie — clad in a floor-length gown and bejeweled headband, with her assistant Jared in tow — saunters into her husband Joel and brother-in-law Benji Madden’s office for a meeting where she pitches the Good Charlotte members on her next big idea: making trap music for her plants. Or, more specifically, a new sub-genre she dubs “parent trap.”

The inspiration for the scene came from an actual pitch meeting Richie had with the Madden brothers. Her trap alter-ego — and the one taking center stage on the short-form series streaming on Quibi — Nikki Fre$h is rooted in a hashtag Richie started using to accompany posts about her edible garden.

“I fell in love with it, and started hashtagging all my harvests because that’s what Oprah does so I was like, I have to also,” Richie told Variety on the “Variety After-Show.

Katy Perry, Capitol Records and the singer’s “Dark Horse” collaborators have filed an appeal to the verdict that ruled against them in the plagiarism case bought by Marcus Gray, a.k.a. Flame. The July verdict found that Perry and her team had copied aspects of their 2013 hit from a 2008 Christian rap song and held them liable for $2.78 million in damages.

The appeal was filed in California on October 9th, according to Variety, and the defendants are asking for the courts to either overturn the original verdict or grant them a new trial.

A jury unanimously ruled that Katy Perry’s 2013 hit single “Dark Horse” improperly copied Christian rapper Flame’s 2009 song “Joyful Noise.” The nine-member federal jury in a Los Angeles determined that Perry and her co-writers and producers will owe unspecified damages for copyright infringement.

“Dark Horse,” which has sold more than 13 million copies worldwide, credits several songwriters, including Perry and Sarah Hudson, who wrote the lyrics, and rapper Juicy J, who wrote his verse. The track was produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Cirkut, who created the beat in question during the week-long trial.
