Pioneer of the TV animation, Sasagawa joined Tatsunoko in 1965 and soon
produced and co-directed his first (and also the company's) TV series
"Space Ace" (1965-66). The next TV series was a big hit, "Mach
Go-Go-Go" (1967-68) created by Tatsuo Yoshida, the other "big name" of
the company. Sasagawa directed, produced and/or supervised from then
almost 50 TV series, and also several Video Animation Series, TV-Movies
and short films based on several TV Series. In 1982 he quit Tatsunoko
to enter as chief director in the Shin'Ei Doga studio, supervising the
TV Series and several medium length films of "Ninja Hattori-Kun",
"Pa-Man" and "Obake no Q-Taro", created by Fujiko-Fujio. Sasagawa is
also original creator of the Toei animation film "Maken Liner 0011
Henshin Seyo" (1972).
