Talha Thakur is a renowned Indian theatre artist and screen actor, acclaimed for international performances. He received the Asian Academy Creative Award (2024) for his role in History TV18 acclaimed series India: Marvels & Mysteries.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Aligarh Muslim University, where he discovered theatre as a means to explore his creative side and participate in extracurricular activities in AMU Drama Club. What began as a casual interest soon blossomed into a deep passion when he was cast in the TV serial Hum Hai Bajrangi (2012).
Following this early exposure, Talha delved wholeheartedly into theatre, performing in over 100 plays across cities like Dubai, Delhi, Mumbai, Lucknow, Kolkata and Hyderabad. He earned acclaim for his compelling performances in celebrated productions, including stage plays like Zabaan Daraz, Sir Syed, Karbal Katha, Tax Free, Waiting for Godot, Badi Bua Ji, Andha Yug, Khamosh Adalat Jaari Hai, Toba Tek Singh, Khol Do, Pagla Ghoda, Aseer-e-Hirs, and many others. His talent also brought him to the stages of prestigious literary and cultural festivals, such as Jashn-e-Rekhta and Jashn-e-Adab.
Expanding his repertoire, Talha ventured into directing, earn accolades for directing plays like Jis Lahore Nai Dekhya O Jamyai Nai, Court Martial, and Saari Raat. His artistic journey also led him to bollywood, where he made his debut in Majaz: Ae Gham-e-Dil (2017).
In 2019, Talha joined the prestigious National School of Drama (NSD) in New Delhi to refine his craft under the guidance of renowned theatre stalwarts, including M.K. Raina, Tom Alter, M. Sayeed Alam, Imran Rasheed, and Bhawani Muzamil. During this time he expanded his portfolio by acting in short films and music albums.
After completing his training, Talha relocated to Mumbai to pursue a career in acting and directing. He secured a significant role as the second lead in the upcoming film Phir Se Shaadi alongside Sharib Hashmi, produced by Rashmi Sharma Telefilms. In 2024, he further showcased his versatility in the film Pyar Ke Do Naam (2024) by Reliance Entertainment and the History TV18 series India: Marvels & Mysteries, for which he received the prestigious Asian Academy Creative Award.
