"His brain is still working. They're learning." Saban Films has released the official red band trailer for a new zombie movie called Day of the Dead: Bloodline. This is basically a remake of the classic original George A. Romero zombie movie Day of the Dead, released in 1985, though it's being called a "reimagining." The plot is about a group of military personnel and survivalists living in an underground bunker trying to survive the zombie apocalypse. The main character is a young woman named Zoe Parker, played by Sophie Skelton, who is "tormented by a dark figure from her past" - surprise, that figure is now a zombie. The cast includes Johnathon Schaech, Jeff Gum, Marcus Vanco, Mark Rhino Smith, Lillian Blankenship, and Shari Watson. This doesn't look that good at all, but if you need more zombies in your life, have at it. Here's the trailer (+ poster) for Hèctor Hernández Vicens...

This year’s MTV VMAs show was full of political messages. And wasn’t just what you saw on TV — it started on the red carpet.
First, Catfish host Nev Schulman chose to wear a yellow Star of David patch on his blazer — a reference to the yellow stars Jews across Germany and Nazi-occupied Europe were forced to wear to signify their faith — as a statement against the growing neo-Nazi and white nationalism movement.
This comes just several days after Billy Joel did the same thing, donning yellow Star of David patches on his label and back during a performance at N.

In the past few years, DC Comics have partnered with General Mills to offer exclusive comics packaged inside some of the most popular cereal boxes on the market. Well, the time has once again come for us to hunt down more books featuring the Justice League at our local grocer.
Before we get to the limited edition comics themselves, let’s discuss what separates this year’s offerings from those previous: The fact that known creators are putting heroic spins on cereal mascots. Don’t expect drastic overhauls as people still need to recognize the fictitious spokesmen, but I’d still say they’re certainly memorable.
Here’s what you can expect to find greeting you as you stroll down the breakfast aisle: Honey Nut Cheerios’ BuzzBee as Batman, drawn by Dave Johnson; Multi Grain Cheerios featuring Wonder Woman,...

Chicago – In founding and being an artistic director of a theater company for over 30 years, Richard Cotovsky of Mary-Arrchie Co. has a few stories to tell. In Part Two of an interview with the “Godfather of Chicago Storefront Theater” Cotovsky talks about the annual Abbie Hoffman Died for our Sins Festival, and the various acts of producing memorable stage productions.
Rich Cotovsky is a lifelong Chicagoan, growing up and currently living in the Rogers Park neighborhood. He was a founding member of Mary-Arrchie Co. – an amalgamation of parent’s names from one of his early acting students – and has served as its Artistic Director since it began in 1986. His award-winning theatre company has served up gritty and memorable productions for 30 years, but their current show, “American Buffalo” – which features Cotovsky in a lead role – will be their final show. The building that houses the space the company has had since the late 1980s,...

Last week’s episode of Empire ended with Cookie and her sister Candice headed to Philly in search for their other sister Carol. Now that Cookie has to worry about her cookout event, she’s not worried about finding her sister Carol; especially if she’s going to have to search high and low. I guess it’s nice to know that this week’s episode shows Laura safe and practicing for the cookout with Hakeem. I definitely thought she was going to be bait for some twisted plan Anika had. What I will say is I wouldn’t let go of that theory just yet. … Continue reading →

“I know you didn’t kill Nick … because I did that.”
Gabi rushes and tells Will “I know you didn’t kill Nick. because I did.” Hey, what happened to the “That” at the end? It completely loses all its impact without the “That!”
Sad, broken, devastated shell of a man Eric is the Hottest Eric.
Ej tells Gabi to shut the hell up, but Gabi keeps wanting to confess. Hope tells everyone that there’s evidence pointing to a new suspect, and the Da agrees to gibe Ej and Gabi time to confer. Will tells Gabi ‘Just listen to Ej. This isn’t all black and white.” Sure it is. And soon it’ll be all Orange, Gabi. Hope you like jumpsuits.
Sami, Lucas, Will and Sonny enter the conference room, and Sami tells Will she can’t believe he would be willing to go to prison for Gabi.

Previously On Warehouse 13.
They need another Astrolabe.
After the carnage that went down in the Fourth Season Finale, Artie needs to bite the bullet and reverse time again. If it means another beloved character has to die, then so be it. How about … Abigail. Oh wait, she’s not beloved. Well, it certainly can’t be Jane or Dr. Vanessa. And Josh still needs a chance to hook up with Steve. Oh hell, just reanimate Leena and off her again. She seems happier as a ghost anyway.
Paracelsus is on the loose, and Artie tells the team he has to be caught immediately or Mrs. Fredric will lose her control over the Warehouse. Luckily Claudia hasn’t sustained any residual effects from her bronzing, and asks Artie if he had any trouble getting a DNA sample from Josh (because only a … living relative … could survive the sample needed). Artie...

This week’s Revenge taught me something huge: I don’t know Jack. But I think I’m starting to like him.
Who woulda thought that a liberal shot of rage and grief could turn the sad-sack, in-the-dark, possibly cuckolded recent widower into a compelling character not to be trifled with? (Ditching the poetry-slam-coffeehouse beard probably didn’t hurt, either.)
Elsewhere in the episode, Charlotte uncovered someone from Amanda/Emily’s past and The Initiative’s scariness quotient was downgraded once more — it now measures somewhere between “ticked-off librarian” and “kitten with bellyache.” Let’s review the major developments of “Retribution.

After releasing the country version of her hit "Born This Way" last month, it appears as if Lady Gaga's now gone Bollywood. She's teamed up with famous Indian producers Salim and Sulaiman for a Desi-fied remix of "Btw," which debuted earlier this week. After listening to the re-worked tune, we couldn’t help but create a playlist of other noteworthy Bollywood-influenced tracks/remixes.

Last time we saw Tara, she was cheering up thanks to an Air Supply jam session in her neighbor's suicide house. She had not told her family that Buck had been hijacking her body to woo a sweet bartender named Pammy (Joey Lauren Adams), hoping her male alter would recede back into her subconscious. But as we learned in last night's episode, "The Truth Hurts," Pammy and Buck are not going away anytime soon, and if anyone tries to get between them, Buck, the hardened Vietnam vet who shows his affection by cutting his lady's toenails and replacing her water jug, will throw down with anyone, including Tara. After the jump, Movieline assesses the damage from last night's match.

More To Love's Luke told two more contenders to take off their rings after three mack-heavy dates and one cruel game. Truth Hurts: The claws came out when Luke asked the girls to judge each other in a game of good wife/bad wife. Lauren called Kristian "too emotionally unstable for a serious relationship" and Kristian labeled Malissa "high maintenance." Lauren didn't give anyone a good mark except Melissa -- perhaps she didn't consider her a threat. But the vote of confidence didn't save Melissa from getting the lowest rating for being too young and inexperienced to wed. She, of course, cried but it worked out in her favor as it earned her an alone date. Heather also got one for getting the highest marks. Mo-Rockin' Good Time: Luke took Melissa out for Moroccan cuisine to figure out why she scored the worst: When the skinny belly dancers walked in,...
