Born in Minas Gerais and raised on a small rural property in the interior of Mato Grosso, Brazil, Severino Neto didn't have access to electricity until he was 11 years old. He studied in various rural schools and spent his childhood and adolescence working in the fields. As a young adult, he moved to Cuiabá, where he graduated in Social Communication and specialized in Cinema. Today, Severino Neto is a screenwriter and director known for "Chumbo (2022)", "The Battle of Shangri-la" (2019), and "Sísmico" (2018).
