Exclusive: Liza Treyger’s first hour-long stand-up special Night Owl is set to premiere globally on Netflix on January 28, sources tell Deadline.

Filmed in New York City, the special sees Treyger touch on her friends who are parents, hating other people’s husbands, and lying to herself about how high she really is. It comes on the heels of Glittercheese, a half-hour she taped for Comedy Central, as well as a half-hour she put together for Netflix stand-up collection The Degenerates. Brian Hoff and Laura Lucchetti served as producers.

In her new uInterview, Orange Is The New Black star Beth Dover shared how she used her comedy skills in her latest role as Molly Arden in Helen’s Dead.

The film focuses on a group of people who find a dead body at a dinner party, which her character attends to write an expose on.

“Basically, it’s sort of the aftermath of that,” Dover explained to uInterview founder Erik Meers. “So it’s like, what if a bunch of people went to a dinner party and found a dead body? But all of these people are slightly self-involved, maybe slightly unlikeable. And what happens when they find a dead body?”

Dover described the film as a “madcap adventure. It’s like sort of in the style of Clue, maybe.”

The actress shared that she was able to do some improv work with her castmates while on set, which was memorable for her.

But now he’s turned his talents to directing, and in a somewhat surprising turn of events, he’s seemingly far more interested in telling horror stories. Outpost is one such movie, and to mark the film’s release on September 11th, we had the pleasure of speaking to the filmmaker.

NBCUniversal’s streaming service, Peacock, is hatching a new short-form series called “The At-Home Variety Show.”

Beginning Monday, May 11, at 7 p.m. Et, the series will stream every weekday for four weeks. “Family Guy” creator Seth MacFarlane will introduce each segment, which will generally be under 10 minutes and will feature performances from NBCU stars including Jane Lynch, Soleil Moon-Frye, Fred Armisen, Kevin Hart and more.

Peacock will donate funds to the Feeding America, Americares and United Way charities, which are helping those affected by the coronavirus pandemic, including essential workers. Viewers will be encouraged to donate to the charities via Peacock’s website.

The inmates of Litchfield Prison could only dream about the kind of mass exit experienced by the cast of Orange is the New Black yesterday, though they no doubt would not feel the same sadness.

“Oitnb series wrap!,” wrote Taylor Schilling on her Instagram page, one of many cast members posting their public goodbyes on social media as the seventh and final season of the Netflix prison comedy-drama wrapped yesterday. “Whoa. My heart is full and achey and so overflowing with gratitude I’m a little dizzy.”

“This is a family,” wrote creator and executive producer Jenji Kohan as the caption of a photo of cast and crew posing on the prison set. (See it and all social media messages below).

The social media farewells actually began in the days building up to yesterday’s wrap, with some cast members marking their own final days of filming over the past week or so.

The fame-hungry Bellacourt sisters won’t be gaining any more notoriety at Comedy Central. The basic cable network has cancelled Another Period after three seasons, TVLine has confirmed.

The satire — a mash-up of Downton Abbey and Keeping Up With the Kardashians — starred series creators Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome as wealthy, vapid siblings Lillian and Beatrice Bellacourt, who were looking to make a name for themselves in turn-of-the-century Newport, Rhode Island. After previously getting engaged, Litchfield Penitentiary Maximum Security’s power couple Piper (Taylor Schilling) and Alex (Laura Prepon) spoke at length in Season 6 about getting prison-married. Well, they finally made it official in the finale. After Piper was granted early release from Litchfield (more on that below), Alex decided to surprise her with a pop-up wedding.

Co McCullough (Emily Tarver) and season six's newest bad girl, Daddy (Vicci Martinez), might seem like an unlikely match behind bars, but in real life, they're not only dating, but they're in a band together!

"We are super in love," Vicci told The News Tribune, a local newspaper from her hometown of Tacoma, Wa, about her relationship with her costar. "And we have a music group together. I've started to do music again. She's fulfilling my fantasy of doing duets together."

It was hard to know how “Orange is the New Black” would — or could — come back after its fifth season, which was as ambitious as it was ultimately disastrous. The show became as scattered and chaotic as the inmate protest-turned-riot it was trying to depict, sending every character spinning seemingly for the sake of it. By season’s end, two guards had died and the inmates were rounded up and shipped off to different prisons.

It’s understandable why, after four similarly structured seasons, the show was tempted to slow the story down to follow just a few extraordinary days in the characters’ lives. But in the end, the result was too thrilled with its own daring to make much sense. So the question was how Season 6 could recover without ditching its ongoing storylines and starting over with a whole new cast.

When it came to making “Another Period’s” third season, creators Natasha Leggero and Riki Lindhome acknowledged that they ended up needing a little extra time to finish writing the season because the 2016 election derailed things a bit.

“Two-thirds the way through the writers’ room, Trump was elected,” Leggero said.

“We have so many intelligent writers on our staff,” Lindhome said, “and we were talking, you know, before Trump was elected, we’re like, well, you know, we really need to think where are people going to be at in six months,” she said. “And one of our writers was like, well, you know, we’re going to have a woman President, and I think there’s going to be a lot of backlash. When it comes to rewarding the best comedic cast on television, the SAG Awards often simply go with the biggest cast. Recent winners like “Orange is the New Black” (2014-2016), “Glee” (2009), “Desperate Housewives” (2004-2005) and “Ally McBeal” (1998) all prevailed thanks in part to having the most cast members on the voting ballot. Interestingly enough, all four of these were also hour-long dramedies, which suggests SAG voters are more apt to give the prize to large casts when they’re also in large productions.

I have never been the biggest fan of the original ‘Wet Hot American Summer‘. Although it has attained cult status over the years, I never found the film to be memorable as others do. In fact, when Netflix revived the franchise a little over two years ago with an eight episode prequel series titled “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp“, I pretty much had the same feeling. With the latest entry in the revival, “Wet Hot American Summer: 10 Years Later“, we finally get a true sequel to the original. And the premise is simple: the campers and counsels of camp firewood reunite a decade later to fulfill their promise made in the first film. Hilarity ensues.
