Olivia Wong was born on January 6, 1996 in Hong Kong. 9 months later, she was adopted into a Chinese-American family and grew up in Sacramento, California. Ever since the age of 14, she knew that she would be a writer and director.
After briefly attending USC School of Cinematic Arts MFA Program, she shot 3 films that she wrote, directed, and co-produced (2021): Madness Incarnate, Making Her-Story, and Nirvana.
Enacting positive social change in the world is the primary reason that she is a filmmaker. She yearns to bring untold stories of marginalized groups of people to the surface and highlight stigmatized topics, such as mental health and racial and gender inequality.
