Mitchell Kozuchowski was born in Melvin, Michigan. He attended Orchard
Lake St. Mary's Preparatory in Orchard Lake, Michigan, and Wayne State
University in Detroit Michigan where he received a degree in
Communications. He moved to New York City where he got his start in the
television business. He began working in the programming department of
MTV in 1983, and helped launch VH-1 in 1985. he would return to MTV's
programming in 1986 before moving over to the production department in
1988. As a producer he served as the line producer for MTV's daily
productions before moving into long-form production. There he worked on
a wide variety of channel's productions, Spring Break, the MTV Video
Music Awards, and the MTV Movie Awards. He is best known there as the
writer/producer of MTV's renowned Rock N' Jock (softball, basketball,
and football) series. He also served as the channels liaison with NBA
Entertainment, Major League Productions, the NFL, and the National
Hockey League. In 1999, he left MTV to form Vagabond Productions which
has produced series and specials for several major networks, and cable
channels. He has served as the writer/producer on the long running YES
Network series "Centerstage with Michael Kay" since 2005. He also has
served as the writer/producer for the popular Fuse TV series "On the
Record" since 2009.
