Kerey Miles Walcott
- Actor
- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
- Additional Crew
Miles is an actor of Jamaican/Barbadian parentage based between Toronto, Canada, and Kingston, Jamaica.
It was in 2011, while watching the rehearsal process for the theatre productions his father directed, that he realized the need to be involved in story telling.
Despite following through with various versions of schooling, in 2016 Miles finally landed in the filmmaking world when he worked as an intern on the film Sprinter directed by Storm Saulter. Interning led to production assistant work, but also castings. A second-round call-back for Idris Elba's Yardie in 2017 was another not so subtle sign that his calling might not necessarily be in an office. This was cemented by his experiences in Jamaica's biggest projects to date -- seconds in front of '007: No Time to Die' director Cary J. Fukunada for an impromptu line-up for a background role; and minutes with On The Run II tour visuals director Melina Matsoukas, in front of camera between Jay Z and Beyoncé, being real inspiration to go for it.
Taking this momentum from the Jamaican film industry, Miles left Jamaica to further his training as an actor and has been working with coach Samora Smallwood at The Actor's Work Studio.
