Michael Farris Smith is an acclaimed novelist and screenwriter. His novels have appeared as Best of the Year selections with Esquire, NPR, Oprah Magazine, Southern Living, Book Riot, and numerous other outlets. He has written the feature film adaptations of his novels Desperation Road and The Fighter, titled for the screen as Rumble Through the Dark, and directed the short film Chasing Rabbits, based on his award-winning short story of the same name. He lives in Oxford, Mississippi.
