- Best known for gritty, character-driven story-telling, award-winning writer/director Michael Miceli was born on November 10th, 1976 in Manhattan, New York. A born story teller, Miceli took his first crack at writing scripts in the second grade, performing them as puppet shows to his classmates in Bergen County, NJ. By fifth grade, Miceli was able to write his own part in the school play.
By the time he was playing NCAA Division III football for Ithaca College, he had already directed a film that was accepted in the New York Independent Film and Video Festival (1997). Since college, Miceli has written feature films for producers Alan Mehrez (Bloodsport) and Shedrack Anderson III (Fat Albert). In addition to receiving 'Best Screenplay' awards from both the Los Angeles and Honoulu Film Awards, Miceli has been honored as a director as well, having been awarded 'best director' at the Best Actors (in a) Film Festival in San Francisco (2011).
Miceli has made a splash in the comedy world, as well. In 2011, Miceli wrote and directed 'Honored' which won "Best Comedy Short Film" at the New York Independent Film Festival and in the following year, he wrote and directed 'Damaged Goods' which won "Best Short Script" at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival.
