Cliff Boule's career in Production Design, Illustration/Art Direction
and Commercial Direction spans more than two decades. His versatile
skills give him a highly trained sense of superior visual development,
design and animation. He joined DreamWorks Animation as a Lead Artist
in Visual Development for the animated feature film ANTZ where he
designed, art directed, and oversaw layout of the "March to Battle",
"The Battle" and "The Morning After (Barbados Head)" sequences. While
at DreamWorks, Cliff also held the post of Staff Director/Production
Designer in the CAFÉ division, where he supervised the Art Department
and directed various all-CG and CG/Live-Action combination commercial
spots for a range of clients including VISA, Gatorade, Pepsi, L'Oreal,
Microsoft, Kodak, Best Buy, Dodge, and Mercedes European. Prior to
Joining PDI/DreamWorks, Cliff was a co-owner/founder of the
Academy-Award-winning visual effects and animation studio Rhythm &
Hues, located in Los Angeles. He served as Creative Director of the
studio and collaborated with his partners in building the studio's
reputation and talent pool from the ground up. They quickly became one
of the leaders in CG animation/visual effects production. He began his
career at the legendary studio Robert Able & Associates as one of the
pioneering Designers/Directors of short form computer-generated
imagery. Cliff's design and direction have resulted in numerous
prestigious awards including Clios, Addys, Art Directors Club/New York,
New York Film Festival Gold Medals and an Art Direction Magazine
Certificate of Distinction. His design work has been widely published
in publications such as Communication Arts Magazine among many others.
Cliff also has work in the permanent collection of the Los Angeles
Museum of Science and Industry.
