The 2026 Grammys are still a year away, but it’s not too soon to start handicapping the race.
The end of February marks the halfway point in the eligibility period, which started Aug. 31, 2024, which means the next Album of the Year may not have even been announced yet. But there is already a crowded field of officially announced, scheduled, or released material jockeying for one of the eight slots. Here’s how the contest currently stands, based on the combined predictions of Gold Derby users who have placed their bets.
SEEDrake releases new album setting up potential Grammy faceoff with Kendrick Lamar. Here’s how that could play out.
As previously noted, Kendrick Lamar is the frontrunner with Gnx, which he released on Nov. 22. The main question for him will be durability. While his trouncing of Drake in their rap battle last summer ended up sustaining through the year — and...

“Saturday Night Live” is known for making audiences laugh for the past 50 years, but it is not complete without the iconic live music performances that have cemented their own place in pop culture.
“SNL50: The Homecoming Concert” brought together over 25 artists who made a mark on the sketch show live from Radio City Music Hall. The concert event features musical guests spanning the series’ half-century on the air.
Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, Snoop Dogg and The B-52s, among many others, performed live during the homecoming concert, while “SNL” alum Jimmy Fallon hosted, featuring his own late night show’s band, The Roots.
In late January, Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson helmed a documentary, “Ladies & Gentlemen … 50 Years of SNL Music,” that sifted through the archives of the show’s musical history. The NBC documentary featured several artists that took the stage at Radio City for the in-person anniversary special.

The Culps are back to catch us up on the past 20 years in music (and more recent music feuds) during SNL50: The Homecoming Concert.

Tracy Morgan took the SNL50: The Homecoming Concert stage and jokingly called out Saturday Night Live creator Lorne Michaels for not letting him sing.
The comedian appeared during Friday’s show at Radio City Music Hall and said Michaels had disrespected him.
“Is everyone having a good time?” Morgan asked the audience, who largely cheered, adding, “Well, I’m not!”
“I’ve been disrespected!” he continued. “Lorne Michaels, you have disrespected me b*tch!”
The camera panned over to Michaels as he laughed at Morgan’s joke.
“It’s a night of great music, and nobody asked me to sing — nobody!” Morgan said. “Dis-res-pect!”
Morgan took advantage of the microphone and took the opportunity to honor the audience with his voice.

Lorne Michaels once rebuffed Taylor Swift’s efforts to kill a Saturday Night Live sketch lightly spoofing her 1989-era squad days, according to a new story in New York Magazine.
The confrontation between the two cultural heavyweights occurred in 2015 and actually began with SNL asking Swift if she would appear in the sketch. Swift reportedly called Michaels directly to decline the offer and ask him to cut the bit entirely.

Jimmy Fallon Reveals His One Impression That Made Lorne Michaels Laugh During ‘SNL’ Audition | Video
It’s the week of the 50th anniversary special for “Saturday Night Live,” and you know what that means: all the alums are getting sentimental. Jimmy Fallon recounted what his audition process was like during Thursday night’s desk segment on “The Tonight Show.” He also gave a big thank you to the man who unwittingly helped him land the job, Adam Sandler.
The “SNL” audition process is notoriously one of the most stressful in show business. Performers take the stage in front of a handful of producers that include industry legends like casting director Marci Klein and Lorne Michaels, and they’re given five minutes to perform. For Fallon’s audition, his current announcer and sidekick for “The Tonight Show” Steve Higgins was actually one of the people watching.

Old friends are sometimes the best (and funniest) friends. At least it looked that way Wednesday night when Jimmy Fallon welcomed a trio of his Saturday Night Live peers to the Studio 6B set of The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon in New York for some skits, laughs and shared memories.
The reunion was for good reason. The alums gathered just days ahead of the much anticipated SNL50: The Anniversary Special airing in primetime on NBC and Peacock on Sunday. And they showed off some of the skills they honed during their respective runs on the iconic sketch show by participating in a “Tonight Show Joke Off,” a riff on SNL’s “Weekend Update” segment during which they battled it out for the best punchlines.
Fey and Poehler, who have a Restless Leg tour scheduled for spring and summer, then stuck around to join Fallon in the chairs for a chat about the upcoming special.

If you were to imagine the most-watched “Saturday Night Live” sketches of all time, certain characters would likely come to mind. Mike Myers and Dana Carvey’s Wayne and Garth would likely make that hypothetical list as would the Coneheads, The Blues Brothers and maybe even MacGruber. But when you actually look through the numbers of the “SNL” YouTube page, that’s not what you find.
Overall, the most watched “SNL” sketches tend to be far more modern. That’s not entirely surprising given that, in general, videos that were released after the start of the internet age tend to be more widely watched. But even though the oldest sketch on this roundup happened in Season 29, this compilation still serves as a celebration of some of the NBC show’s best performers.
Internet savvy viewers may note that a surprising name is missing from this compilation: The Lonely Island. To keep this ranking relatively fair,...

Did Meghan Markle & Prince Harry’s Pda spark controversies? (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Meghan Markle and Prince Harry attended the opening ceremony of the Invictus Games over the weekend, where the Duchess of Sussex seemed to address recent remarks from former President Donald Trump with a rather public display of affection toward her husband.
Meghan, while sitting in the cold Canadian stands, wrapped herself in a long cream trench coat and cuddled close to Harry, before leaning in for a kiss that captured the attention of the crowd. She also got into the spirit of the event, energetically shaking blue pom-poms, but her affection toward Harry was what really sparked conversation.

Katy Perry’s presence at Prince Harry’s Invictus Games is controversial. The pop star performed her signature hits like “Firework” and “Roar” to please the crowd despite the desperate plea of the family of disabled veteran Carl Wescott.
