Another week, another episode of Aew: Dark which features 7 matches on the card this week (thankfully; I do love a shorter show)… On with the review!
Match #1: Varsity Athletes (Tony Nese & Josh Woods) def. Rosario Grillo & Dean Alexander
My Thoughts: This was a decent opening match for this week’s show, with Nese and Woods running roughshod over their competition. Still, a dumb name though, even if they did “win” it from the Varsity Blonds.
My Score: 2.5 out of 5 Match #2: Willow Nightingale def. Marina Shafir
My Thoughts: Who would’ve thought that it would take Willow Nightingale to get a great match out of Marina Shafir?! Good to see such a good match and Willow get the win!
My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #3: Wheeler Yuta def. Km
My Thoughts: This was a short and sweet match, with Wheeler Yuta once again coming out of the match looking strong.

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, the opening salvo in the Aew wrestling week. Once again we’ve got the duo of Tony Schiavone and Mark Henry on commentary this week… Let’s see what the show has to offer!
Match #1: Julia Hart def. Lmk
My Thoughts: Julia Hart’s transformation continues… Like last week, ere her character work was at the fore, with a determined walk to the ring, a stalking of her opponent (which I think is Really working for Hart) and a vicious streak that saw her slap the crap out of Lmk. Onwards and upwards for Hart methinks!
My Score: 2 out of 5 Match #2: Leila Grey def. Jc
My Thoughts: It’s clear Aew see something in Leila Grey, given that she’s had numerous matches now And she’s been lined up as a baddie replacement on the main shows too.

Another episode of Aew: Dark, which this week features fourteen, yes Fourteen(!), matches. Though this show has also gone back to the traditional format after last week’s tremendous show which showcased two matches filmed internationally… I fear no Dark may ever live up to last weeks… Especially not one crammed with 14 matches like the old pandemic days!
Match #1: Jora Johl def. Luke Sampson
My Thoughts: Poor Jora Johl, it really looked like he was being set up to be a big star, with a future turn against Matt Hardy probably propelling him up the Aew card. Then Jeff hardy joined Aew and the Hfo disbanded and Johl has been seemingly forgotten. Though he has out in some decent time on Aew’s YouTube shows, it feels like he’s fallen into the Factory/Dark Order trap – win against jobbers on YouTube, Be the jobber of Dynamite/Rampage!

Welcome to this week’s review of Aew Dark: Elevation, we’ve got Paul Wight, Mark Henry, Tony Schiavone And Anthony Ogogo on commentary (4 people! 4!) and another short and sweet 6-match card, so let’s get right into the action!
Match #1: Bear Bronson def. Brandon Cutler
My Thoughts: This was the usual Brandon Cutler match. A squash but one that saw Cutler up to his usual antics and comedy wrestling style. Unfortunately for Cutler Bear Bronson took this one a bit more seriously and got the quick win.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #2: Brody King def. Alex Reynolds
My Thoughts: Another quick squash match for Elevation as Brodie King. Well it wasn’t a Total squash, with Reynolds at least getting some good offence in against the more powerful Brody King. And it was power that won the day here.
My Score: 1.5 out of 5 Match #3: Anna Jay and Yuka Sakazaki def.
