Zee5’s Silence… Can You Hear It? is an investigative drama film about the death of a young girl who was the daughter of a retired justice. Crime thrillers are a rage in the Ott space, and there are multiple films and television shows in the genre that are either brilliant or plain bad. There was no reason stated or understood as to why the movie was titled Silence… Can You Hear It? because it doesn’t seem to bear any relevance with the actual content of the movie.
Silence 1 begins with a few young college students trekking at a spot far away from Mumbai. The boys accidentally find the dead body of Pooja Chaudhary. It was obvious she was murdered, and her body was dumped this far away in the hope it would not be discovered by anyone. Pooja Chaudhary was the daughter of a retired justice who was good friends with Kavita Khanna.

We have finally released the trailer. My character is eager, determined and extremely impatient to solve the case. Acp Avinash (his character) is nothing without his team. He will push them to the edge to solve the mystery. I am sure that the film will revitalise the whodunnit genre and have the audience guessing till the very end," he said.

Masala brilliance thy name is personified by Manmohan Desai. Masala filmmaking is that secret ingredient to nearly every film in this wide and bountiful Hindi film industry. Of course, filmmakers disguise these elements in the social message films, the love stories, the thrillers, and countless other genre-pictures. If we want something to break up the tension of love scene, add some dishoom-dishoom, or if you want to cool that down, throw in some smart comedy. The ability to freely mix genres and tropes was expertly done in the juggernaut Amar, Akbar, Anthony (Aaa). The late 70s were the beginnings of the Amitabh Bachchan industry and Amar Akbar Anthony marked the partnership between Bachchan and Desai.

Film: "Thoofan"; Cast: Ram Charan Teja, Priyanka Chopra, Sri Hari, Prakash Raj, Tanikella Bharani and Mahie Gill; Director: Apoorva Lakhia; Rating: *
Chisel a big log of wood in the form of a human being, more or less looking like Ram Charan Teja, and make it wear the khaki uniform. What do we get out of this exercise? Unfortunately, Acp Vijay Khanna, protagonist of "Thoofan", which gives Ram Gopal Varma's remake of "Sholay", a tough competition. Forget fans of the 1973 film "Zanjeer" and even Amitabh Bachchan fans - even for any regular cinema patron, "Thoofan" is like paying money to dig your own grave.
For starters, "Zanjeer" is not a bilingual film as claimed by its makers. Barring scenes involving Sri Hari, the rest.

The biggest hurdle that a remake has to cross is the passion of the fans of the original. Zanjeer 1974 was no ordinary film. There was so much to this film that made it extraordinary: classic in status, the Angry Young Man icon for Amitabh Bachchan, the genre shift from romance to action with story-telling and let’s not forget Mona Darling. Pretty hefty stuff if you think about it. Nevertheless, the fresh team for Zanjeer 2013 headed by Apoorva Lakhia, has had a debut, a comeback of sorts and enough off screen drama to give a bit of original hype to the remake. But hype doesn’t make up for audience impact nor an entertaining story. Ok so the original film was of the same simple story of revenge and action and yes, it had a bigger hand in Amitabh’s life than played by Ram Charan. But in the end,...

“I always believe that my films should give some hope to the man who comes to watch them for those three hours. If he goes home on an optimistic note, I would feel satisfied at having done my duty.” – Yash Chopra
It was indeed a sad day when news spread that one of India’s finest filmmakers, Mr. Yash Chopra, unexpectedly passed away at the age of 80. Mr. Chopra is an undisputable legend and he has crafted some of the finest commercial films the Bollywood audiences have ever feasted their eyes upon. If Satyajit Ray is considered by Indian film enthusiasts to be the supreme director when it comes to art-house cinema, Yash Chopra can be classified as the definitive director when it comes to mainstream cinema. Yash Chopra is largely famous for making wonderful romantic films, though he has directed a handful of non-romantic films also. Yet no director...

One of Indian cinema's first superstars who appeared in 15 consecutive hit films in the course of three years
Rajesh Khanna, who has died aged 69 after a long illness, was Indian cinema's first superstar. At the height of his fame he generated adulation that sometimes verged on mass hysteria and appeared in 15 consecutive hit films over the course of three years.
He first achieved acclaim in Aradhana (Worship, 1969), playing two roles – the husband and grown-up son, both air force pilots, of the established star Sharmila Tagore. Notable among the romantic drama's musical numbers was the sexy Roop Tera Mastana (Your Beauty Is Intoxicating), recorded in a single take, a first for Hindi cinema.
Further highly commercial films followed, including Aan Milo Sajna (Come Meet Me, Beloved, 1970), Kati Patang (Broken Kite, 1970) and Haathi Mera Saathi (Elephant My Partner, 1971). More thought-provoking were Daag (Stain, 1973), dealing with the subject of bigamy, and Anand (1971), in...

Bbuddah…Hoga Tera Baap mark a return for Amitabh to his Angry Young Man roots, so expect some cracking dialogue with plenty of dishoom dishoom from the original maverick! This revisionist masala films definitely warrants a look back at the many roles Amitabh Bachchan has unleashed his righteous fury. However, with each of these roles, Bachchan offered a different interpretation of his most iconic persona. You could say Bachchan’s Angry Young Man was a successor to the Disillusioned Young Man of the 50s played by Raj Kapoor, Dilip Kumar, and Guru Dutt. Aided by great screenwriters Salim Khan, Javed Akhtar, and directors who knew how draw the best out him; Amitabh Bachan’s iconic persona is a perfect fusion of all these elements in creating a lasting legacy for Indian cinema. Though the Angry Young Man that Bachchan embodied became an increasing staple in masala films, he echoed many...
