Julianne Vallera was born and raised in San Diego, California. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in writing from Point Loma Nazarene University. After graduating she decided to take some film classes and attended the Options for All Film and Media Studio. Once her opinion piece titled "Casting Disabled Actors Is About More Than Just Inclusion" was published, it opened up doors for her to work on student films and she gave a speech about the need for diversity and inclusion at the San Diego Film Awards in 2019
