Rebecca Baker was born in Kingston, London. She is of English, French, and Irish heritage, and grew up in Zürich, Switzerland.
She trained with the National Youth Theatre and Rose Bruford College. She then began her career on the stage, appearing in National Theatre's The Network (2017), starring Bryan Cranston, and Secret Cinema's Romeo + Juliet (2018). Most recently, she starred in Flying (2024) and Hamdardi (2023), which was longlisted for Best Live Action Short Film at the 97th Academy Awards. Both films were screened at the BFI during the 2024 London Film Festival. In 2023, she starred in a 9-month run of Layered Reality's The War of the Worlds.
A BIFA-qualifying Exit 6 Film Festival panelist, she is also co-founder of Cut & Roll Pictures, a film production company established alongside producer Alice Duke (Irresistible Studios) with a mission to bring compelling, thought-provoking narratives to life. The company are in pre-production for Drowning (2025), with award-winning director Reiff Gaskell, and Scratching Post (2025), written by BIFA-winning actor and writer Abigail Hardingham and directed by Oscar, BIFA and BAFTA longlisted director Louisa Burnham.
