Exclusive: After hitting it big with the Sydney Sweeney-Glen Powell rom com Anyone But You, Will Gluck hopes lightning strikes twice as he looks to have landed on another pair of young stars to light up the screen for his next feature. Sources tell Deadline, Monica Barbaro and Callum Turner are set to star in One Night Only for Universal Pictures. Sources also tell Deadline the film will bow on Aug. 7, 2026. Stephen King has had many of his books turned into films and shows, but 11.22.63 stands out as one of the best. Instead of squeezing a long and detailed story into a two-hour movie, the book was made into an eight-episode miniseries.
That gave the story time to breathe and allowed it to capture the detail and tension that King is known for. The best part is, it can be entirely watched in mere 8 hours.
The series is based on King’s 2011 novel 11/22/63 and mixes science fiction with historical drama. It follows Jake Epping, a recently divorced English teacher from Maine, played by James Franco.
Jake’s life changes when his friend Al Templeton, played by Chris Cooper, shows him a way to travel back to 1960. Al convinces Jake to take on a huge mission — stop the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963.

Stephen King’s work has been adapted for the screen many times, but few adaptations have hit the sweet spot quite like 11.22.63. The limited series format turned out to be perfect for the story, letting it breathe without the heavy cuts that movies often have to make.
Based on King’s 2011 novel, the eight-part miniseries blends sci-fi, thriller, and drama, and it’s short enough to binge in less than a day. The best part is, it can be entirely watched in mere 8 hours.
The show follows Jake Epping, played by James Franco, a recently divorced English teacher from Lisbon, Maine. One day, his friend Al Templeton, played by Chris Cooper, reveals a secret, there’s a way to travel back in time to 1960. Al convinces Jake to take on a mission: stop the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. But life in the past isn’t simple.

For a film named “Unicorns,” color is noticeably absent at first. Luke (Ben Hardy) lives in a world of gray, where cloudy skies and towering blocks of concrete threaten to crush him completely. So too does the responsibility of raising a five-year-old son alone after his ex ran out. Not even a casual hook-up in a grubby field behind his Essex council estate frees him of that cramped, confined feeling, especially when the woman he’s just shagged cooly blows him off.
That all changes when Luke takes a wrong turn in an Indian restaurant one day and ends up in a Gaysian club night. Upon pushing that door open, strobe lights flood his monochromatic existence with neon colors that pulsate and glitter on stage where Aysha (Jason Patel) is performing. It’s almost like that unforgettable moment in “The Wizard of Oz” when Dorothy’s world transforms to color,...

A new Clayface movie is officially on the way, and fresh reports are giving fans a clearer picture of what to expect. According to Nexus Point News, the film will tell a dark and disturbing story about a struggling Hollywood actor who ends up turning into a monster made of clay.
DC Studios has described the film as an R-rated body horror that will show the tragic origins of one of Batman’s classic villains.
The movie was originally thought up by horror filmmaker Mike Flanagan, known for Doctor Sleep and The Haunting of Hill House. Flanagan first became interested in Clayface back in 2021 and kept pitching his idea to DC. In March 2023, Flanagan and his producing partner Trevor Macy met with DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran to talk about the project.

Conversations about fashion in superhero movies typically revolve around the costume. Spandex or Lycra? Leather or chain mail? Exposed or covered nipples? Trunks or a codpiece?
It’s safe to say that Nicholas Hoult has defied norms and become the intense sartorial focal point of this month’s press tour for “Superman,” DC Films’ and director James Gunn’s movie reboot led by David Corenswet. And it’s not even Hoult’s bald head or severe suits in his role as comic book baddie Lex Luthor – it’s his off-camera red carpet game that’s been captivating.

This September, the doors to Downton are opening one last time as Julian Fellowes' grand British period drama makes its final bow in global theaters. The upcoming final installment of the Downton Abbey film trilogy, The Grand Finale, is set to debut on September 12, and will see several of the franchise's favorite faces return, including Hugh Bonneville, Laura Carmichael, Michelle Dockery, Joanne Froggatt, Jim Carter, and even Paul Giamatti, who is reprising his role as Harold Levinson.

DC Studios is heading into horror territory with one of its upcoming movies, and it’s not holding back. The film, Clayface, is being made as a body horror movie and is expected to carry an R rating. James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, confirmed this during a recent episode of the DC Studios Showcase podcast.
The idea for the film wasn’t originally part of DC’s main universe plans. But that changed when director Mike Flanagan pitched his vision for Clayface, which impressed the studio enough to add it to the Dcu slate.
Gunn described the project as a smart and intense horror film and said it’s the kind of movie he’s excited about. “It’s rated R … it’s not anything now because the MPA has to watch it, but it’s most likely rated R. It’s pretty intense,” he said.

DC Studios is getting ready to dive into horror with one of its upcoming films, Clayface. James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, recently spoke about the movie during the DC Studios Showcase podcast and confirmed that it’s going to be a full-on body horror film, and they’re aiming for an R rating. Earlier this week, Tom Rhys Harries was cast in the main role.
DC Studios had been considering a number of rising British talents, including Jack O’Connell, Tom Blyth, and George MacKay, before locking in Harries for the gig. According to DC Studios co-head James Gunn, it wasn’t a rushed decision.
Gunn explained that the film wasn’t originally part of the DC Universe lineup, but director Mike Flanagan came in with a pitch that changed their minds.
According to Gunn, the story was so strong and unique that it earned its place in the new Dcu.

Dcu has found its Clayface, and interestingly, it’s none of the four actors that were initially reported to be the frontrunners, which involved Jack O’Connell, Tom Blyth, Leo Woodall, and George MacKay. Instead, James Gunn and co. have gone with a fresh face, Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries, potentially in the shoes of Matt Hagen.
While not the most obvious choice, especially given the speculations surrounding more veteran performers, their decision to lean toward a relatively unknown actor is interesting nonetheless.

Having cut his acting teeth treading the boards with the likes of Ben Whishaw and Rupert Grint, Tom Rhys Harries has become an increasingly regular fixture on our screens in recent years, popping up in everything from Guy Ritchie's The Gentlemen to Netflix drama White Lines to last year's discourse-driving Doctor Who episode 'Dot And Bubble'. And now it looks like the Welshman is about to break the mould with his first major blockbuster role. Per Deadline's reporting, Harries has just landed himself the title role in Speak No Evil filmmaker James Watkins' upcoming DC Studios joint Clayface.
As Deadline states, a veritable who's who of in-demand British actors made the final shortlist to play DC's malleable man — including Sinners' Jack O'Connell, 1917 star George Mackay, One Day's Leo Woodall, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes breakout Tom Blyth. It was recently reported that the search for Clayface's lead had come down to four actors: Jack O'Connell (28 Years Later), Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes), Leo Woodall (The White Lotus), and George MacKay (1917).
Well, it's turned out to be none of them. DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn has confirmed that Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries will take on the title role in Clayface, with The Wrap's Umberto Gonzalez reporting that he'll play the Matt Hagen version of the villain.
While Harries is a relative unknown, he's racked up credits in Apple TV+'s Suspicion, as well as The Return, Kandahar, and The Gentleman.

One project that has begun to move unexpectedly fast in development at DC Studios is Clayface. The film wasn't originally part of Co-Chairmen James Gunn and Peter Safran's list of projects that comprise the first saga, titled Gods and Monsters. However, a Clayface script written by Life of Chuck director Mike Flanagan was quickly approved by the duo at the head of DC Studios. From there, the project took off, with Speak No Evil director James Watkins being announced to helm the film. All that remained was to see who would end up playing the titular villain. Now, a new report from Deadline has revealed that an up-and-coming actor has landed the coveted role of the DC villain.

Back in 2021, filmmaker Mike Flanagan let it be known on social media that he was interested in making a “standalone horror/thriller/tragedy” movie that would center on the Clayface character. A while after that, he confirmed that he had met with veteran DC movie producer Jon Berg to pitch a “horror-leaning” take on Clayface, as well as ideas for the DC properties Scarecrow, Justice League Dark, and Constantine. The meeting “kind of went nowhere.” But then, in March of 2023, Deadline broke the news that Flanagan had scheduled another Clayface pitch meeting, this time with DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran. And at the end of last year, it was announced that Flanagan is officially writing a Clayface movie that will be part of the DC Universe film franchise that’s being overseen by Gunn and Safran. A few months ago, Speak No Evil director James Watkins was hired to take the helm…...

DC Studios' Clayface movie will soon begin filming, and the project's working title has now been revealed.
According to FeatureFirst.net, Clayface will be known as "Corinthians" while shooting takes place.
Though working titles don't always have much to do with the plot of the movie itself, they are usually chosen for some reason. There's been some speculation that Corinthians might have something to do with the character from Neil Gaiman's The Sandman, but it's far more likely to refer to Corinth, Greece, the Corinthian order of architecture, or the corresponding Biblical verses.
There's also this!

Sergio G. Sánchez’s psychological horror thriller “Marrowbone” (2017) is a fascinating blend of mystery, trauma, and family bonds. The movie keeps the audience on the edge of their seats as it explores a dark family secret hidden behind the decaying walls of an old house. Starring George MacKay, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Heaton, and Mia Goth, the movie starts with a promise of a new life, but it descends into an unsettling tale of survival, grief, and psychological torment.
At first glance, “Marrowbone” appears to be a classic haunted house story, but as the film unfolds, it reveals a much deeper and more tragic truth. The movie explores themes of trauma, guilt, and the power of imagination, making it a psychological thriller that lingers in the mind long after the credits roll. This article dives deep, clarifies some puzzling parts of the movie, and provides a thorough explanation of Sergio G Sánchez’s directorial brilliance.

The news broke last month that DC Studios has decided to shelve Sgt. Rock. There was some chatter about the movie shooting in 2026, but filmmaker Luca Guadagnino has already moved on to a different project, Artificial.
His inexperience helming big-budget movies was listed as one of the possible reasons for Sgt. Rock's postponement, as were concerns about the British weather.
DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn has yet to break his silence on Sgt. Rock's apparent cancellation, and plans for it to be released as soon as next year, have obviously been scrapped.
Scooper Daniel Richtman has chimed in today, claiming to have "confirmed" that Sgt. Rock is still happening... "for now." It reportedly remains on pause until next year, so we'd imagine DC Studios won't be making any rash decisions on this one.
Many fans have questioned the necessity of a World War II movie set in the Dcu,...

Casting for Clayface is underway, and four up-and-coming stars are being eyed to play one of Batman's most underrated villains. Clayface will be the third film in James Gunn's Dcu, an unexpected move in launching a shared universe, but one that helps distinguish it from both the MCU and the previous Dceu. With an original pitch by Doctor Sleep director Mike Flanagan, Clayface is set to be directed by Speak No Evil director James Watkins and released in September 2026.
The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Jack O'Connell (Sinners), Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games: A Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), George MacKay (1917), and Leo Woodhall (The White Lotus) are all in the running to play Clayface. The Hollywood Reporter notes that the list has been narrowed down to three, but is unsure which actor is no longer being considered. Don't expect an announcement to be made at San Diego Comic-Con, as...

We recently learned that Marvel Studios will be skipping the usual Hall H presentation at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, and we now have an equally disappointing update on what Warner Bros./DC Studios has planned for the annual event.
THR reports that neither Superman nor Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be showcased at Sdcc.
It's not too surprising that James Gunn's Dcu reboot won't be getting much attention since the event kicks off a couple of weeks after the movie hits theaters, but fans were expecting to see something from The Girl of Steel's solo outing despite its June 2026 release date.
There is some good news for Peacemaker fans, however.
"Peacemaker will have a big footprint at the convention, a move that signals DC and Max’s confidence in season two, which bows Aug. 21. And, while DC had no comment, there could be a Hall H panel for the show.

We may soon learn who DC Studios has chosen to play Clayface. In THR’s Heat Vision newsletter, a little tidbit confirmed that George MacKay (1917), Tom Blyth (The Hunger Games; The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes), Jack O’Connell (Sinners), and Leo Woodall (The White Lotus) have each read for the leading role in Clayface.
However, one of those names may already be out, as a source told THR that “the four have now become three,” but didn’t specify which actor.
Hossein Amini (Drive) was brought onboard last month to rewrite Mike Flanagan’s script. James Watkins (Speak No Evil) will direct the Clayface movie, which will be produced by Matt Reeves and Lynn Harris.
