Daughter of Thomas Mann and Katia Mann.

Married to Italian author Giuseppe Antonio Borgese. They had two daughters, Angelica and Dominica.

Although she was one of the founding members of the Club of Rome and a recognized expert on maritime law and policy, she became prominent in Germany only shortly before her death, due to her appearance on the acclaimed mini series about her family (2001).

Niece of Heinrich Mann.
