Earlier this year, Disney+ aired a Star Wars TV show called The Acolyte, about a pair of long-sundered sisters who were powerful in the Force. The third episode used extensive flashbacks to show us what traumatic events befell the sisters as children, and it was, on the whole, a failure. We'd barely gotten a chance to acquaint ourselves with the main characters in the first two episodes, and now the show is halting any plot momentum to spend an hour in the past? Boo.
The third episode of Dune: Prophecy, "Sisterhood Above All," does much the same thing, but it works much better. Maybe because the episodes of Dune: Prophecy are much longer than episodes of The Acolyte, so we have more time to sit with the story. Maybe it's that Emily Watson and Olivia Williams did such a terrific job setting up their characters, Valya and Tula Harkonnen, in...

Based on Jilly Cooper's second Rutshire Chronicles novel, Rivals sees cutthroat independent television station director Tony Baddingham (David Tennant) out to rise to the top of his industry, having poached both brilliant producer Cameron Cook (Nafessa Williams) from New York and radical journalist Declan O'Hara (Aiden Turner) from the BBC. Taking place in Thatcher-era England, Rivals showcases the fascinating professional world that is the chessboard of these determined players for a few fleeting moments. Sadly, the rest of the initially promising show is spent on a tangled web of meaningless sexual entanglements among its interconnected cast.

We’ve gotten more casting for the upcoming USA Network series The Rainmaker, so here’s what we know so far on the coming legal drama!
It’s been a while since USA Network got into scripted drama. After kicking off the big “blue sky era” of hit shows from Monk to Suits, the network scaled back in recent years. However, they’re making a big return with a direct-to-series order of a show based on John Grisham’s The Rainmaker.
Grisham is well known as the author of numerous legal thrillers, including The Firm, The Pelican Brief, The Client, and A Time To Kill. All four of those books were turned into movies, as was his 1995 novel The Rainmaker, which became a 1997 film starring Matt Damon.

Lana Parrilla fans, rejoice! The actress is set to star in a new television project, and that definitely has us excited. I personally was introduced to Parrilla thanks to her role as Regina Mills/Evil Queen on hit fantasy series Once Upon a Time. She's so talented and I've been a fan since. And like many celebs that we become fans of, we like to follow and support their careers even after that initial show has ended.
Since Once Upon a Time, the actress has starred in Paramount+'s Why Women Kill, The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, and Jennifer Lopez movie, Atlas, which is also streaming on Netflix. And now, it's time for the next project! We'll need to tune in to new series The Rainmaker on USA Network, per Deadline. Though no release date has been shared yet, we have some information on what the series is about and who the star will play.

Milo Callaghan may have just gotten his big break after this huge booking!
The young actor has a few projects under his belt, such as Doctor Who and The Strangers: Chapter One. For Milo though, The Rainmaker could be his big break.
Based on the book of the same name, The Rainmaker follows Rudy Baylor (Callaghan) after he graduates law school. Still new to the real world, he suddenly finds himself up against well-known defense attorney Leo F. Drummond, who will be played by John Slattery.
This isn’t the first time this story has been adapted though. In fact, Matt Damon famously played the role of Rudy Baylor in Francis Ford Coppola’s 1997 film version. Milo has some big shoes to fill to say the least, but they wouldn’t have cast him if he didn’t have the chops!

Streamer Disney+ has revealed a power packed British cast who will join the previously announced David Tennant, Alex Hassell, Aidan Turner and Danny Dyer on the series adaptation of Jilly Cooper’s steamy novel “Rivals.”
Joining the eight-part saga are Annabel Scholey (“The Split”), Maggie Steed (“Ten Percent”), David Calder (“Motherland”), Antony Byrne (‘”The Witcher”), Denise Black (“Queer as Folk”), Bryony Hannah (“Call The Midwife”), Olivia Poulet (“Back”) and Brendan Patricks (“Downton Abbey”).
“Rivals” is part of Cooper’s bestselling “Rutshire Chronicles,” set in affluent 1980s England where two powerful men and neigbors – Olympian turned politician Rupert Campbell-Black and television exec Tony Baddingham – have a longstanding rivalry that finally comes to a head.
Scholey plays Beattie Johnson, a ruthless Fleet Street journalist who will do anything for a story. Steed plays Lady Gosling, the steely no-nonsense chair of Independent Broadcasters Association. Calder plays Lady Gosling’s dogmatic right-hand man, Fergus Penney,...
