Lance Khazei is an Emmy nominated writer, award winning producer, and festival acclaimed director. Lance has developed and written television comedy for Fox, Comedy Central, Disney, Dreamworks, MTV, Cartoon Network and NBC Studios. Lance sold the first two original screenplays he ever penned, ROMANTIC COMEDY to MGM and action, adventure, comedy BABY FORMULA to New Line. While Khazei did not participate in the production rewrites, BABY FORMULA was re-developed as the theatrical release Son of the Mask. Khazei has written additional feature films for New Line, Columbia and Warner Brothers, working across both comedy and action genres.
NAMCAR NIGHT RACE, an independent comedy Lance wrote, directed and produced, screened to forty-five festival wins and honors worldwide, including multiple Audience Awards, Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Comedy and Best Television Pilot awards. NAMCAR stars Theo Von of Netflix specials "No Offense" and "Regular People," Whitney Rice of "Jury Duty" and James Morosini of HBO's "Sex Lives of College Girls." MovieMaker Magazine calls NAMCAR Night Race, "brilliant." The Mindfield Film Festival adds NAMCAR is "deliriously funny." New Filmmakers LA calls Lance a "passionate and ultra-talented writer director." Among a variety of new media projects for Fox, GQ and Conde Nast, Fox Digital hired Lance to write and direct a 1970s period piece, sports competition comedy starring Rob Delaney of Amazon's Catastrophe.
Khazei was a founding producer of HUFFPOST LIVE, the pioneering video streaming news service. There he created the weekly series, "The Writers' Room" featuring interviews with entertainment industry insiders. HuffPost Live was named Mashable's Best Media Innovation of 2012, earned a Webby Award in 2013 and Khazei was named a producer to watch in 2015 by Indie's UNITE.
Born in Boston and raised in New Hampshire, Lance graduated from Harvard with honors where he studied government. Before his work in the entertainment industry, Lance worked for City Year, a domestic Peace Corps.
