Marc Lubbers
- Actor
- Music Artist
Marc's is a never-too-late, second-chances, pick-yourself-up-and-dust-yourself-off kind of story...
He was born in 1971 and raised by his single mother on various parts of Long Island, NY - mostly in the East End village of Sag Harbor, part of the famous Hamptons. From childhood, he had a marked attention to character and storytelling, using his limitless imagination to impose infinitely complex personalities on his stuffed animals and action figures.
After stumbling upon his vocation to the arts in high school, he was trained in the 1990s as a musician and an actor at Susquehanna and Northwestern universities. Post-training, he embarked on a career as a songwriter, recording a demo album called "The First Step" and touring throughout the Mid-Atlantic region as a solo performer.
He married the love of his life and started a family at the very end of the 20th century, but soon after suffered about 3 years of tragedies and setbacks, both personal and professional, born of bad decisions and bad luck.
After some years of recovery, the 21st century has brought Marc back to acting full time. He has made guest appearances on NBC, The History Channel, A&E, and the Investigation Discovery Network, been featured in dozens of national and regional television commercials and been an actor and/or spokesperson for the Department of Homeland Security, the US Veterans Affairs Department, and Volunteers of America. Most recently, he was cast in a lead role in a short film project by acclaimed director Gandja Monteiro.
Recent theatre roles have included Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof", Pseudolus in "A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum", Peter Stockmann in "An Enemy of the People", Henry Drummond in "Inherit the Wind", Kreon in "Antigone", Herr Schultz in "Cabaret", Wilbur Turnblad in "Hairspray", Lord Capulet in "Romeo & Juliet", General Waverly in "White Christmas", and Joe in "Waitress".
He currently lives in southeastern Pennsylvania with his beloved wife, 2 sons & cavapoo and works regularly as a local hire in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, and Washington DC.
