- The first songs that they played live in a movie were, in order: "The Battle Cry of Freedom", an instrumental version of "Doubleback" and "Clementine", all of which they played as the band at the town festival to dedicate the courthouse clock in Back to the Future Part III (1990). "Doubleback" was the only original song of the three, the other two dating back to before the film's time period. In the DVD commentary for Back to the Future Part III, it is stated by the director that the band was actually playing, but they were not playing what is heard in the finished film.
