Mike Wong is a Toronto-based Director and filmmaker with over a decade of experience crafting compelling narratives across a variety of mediums, including short films, commercials, and music videos. Born and raised in Scarborough later moving to Markham, Ontario, Mike discovered his passion for filmmaking in high school, where he volunteered his creative talents to produce posters, commercials, and short films for school events. His early exposure to storytelling laid the foundation for his dynamic career behind the camera.
Mike graduated with Honours from the Toronto Film School (TFS) with a Diploma in Film Production, earning Presidential recognition for his dedication and excellence. During his time at TFS, Mike honed his skills in multiple departments, including cinematography, color grading, picture editing, and visual effects, giving him a well-rounded perspective as a Director. He worked on several thesis films, where he developed a hands-on understanding of every stage of production, which has become a hallmark of his collaborative approach.
As the Creative Director of Mikejeffwong Productions Inc., a production company he founded in 2019, Mike has directed, produced, and edited a range of commercial campaigns, promotional videos, and independent projects. Leading teams of up to 20+ crew members, he has successfully delivered high-quality productions for both startups and national organizations. He is deeply involved in every phase of production, ensuring every detail aligns with the project's vision and contributes to its ultimate success.
Mike's creative accomplishments include several award-winning short films, many of which received recognition at the Toronto 48-Hour Film Festival. These projects showcased his ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining artistic integrity and high production value.
