Tainá Xavier was born on August 6, 1977, in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. She has worked in production design, art direction and set decoration since 1997. She took part of various art crews, including Globo TV programs, short and feature films and series, highlighting the feature films "De Pai prá Filho" (Paulo Halm, unreleased); "Homem Onça" (Vinícius Reis, 2021), "No Meu Lugar" (2009), among others. She has a PhD in Cinema and Audiovisual from the PPGCine of the Universidade Federal Fluminense (UFF). She has a degree in Social Communication at the same institution (2004) and a master's degree in Visual Arts from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).
Tainá has been teaching film and audiovisuals since 2014. She is a professor at the Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing (ESPM Rio). She has created the "Dar a Ver - Núcleo de estudo e formação em funções de apoio à direção de arte audiovisual" extension project at Universidade Federal da Integração Latino-Americana (UNILA), where she was a permanent professor from 2014 to 2021. She has experience in the area of Arts - Cinema, with an emphasis on Art Direction an Production Design, working mainly on the following subjects: art direction, production design, cinema, Latin America, audiovisual teaching. She is a member of the research groups NATLA - Núcleo de Arte e Tecnologia Latino-Americano (UNILA) and NIDAA - Núcleo de Investigação em Direção de Arte Audiovisual (UFPE). Is a founding member of Brada - Brazilian Art Directors Collective.
