Manolo Travieso was born and raised in Puerto Rico with strong Mexican
and Cuban influences. He relocated to Los Angeles in 1990. In 1998, he
decided to follow in the foot steps of his parents, Lillian Hurst and
Hector Travieso, when he was cast to play the role of Zorro in a
National Ford Campaign alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones. That same year,
he was chosen to host "The Billboard Music Awards" for Fox Latin
American Channel along side Chris Rock.
Manolo's film career includes "Ladron Que Roba A Ladron" (starring Fernando Colunga, Miguel Varoni and directed by award-winner Joe Menendez), "What About Your Friends" (starring Keshia Knight Pulliman and Louis Gossett Jr.) and "Hunting Of Man" (with Douglas Spain and Oscar Torre). Manolo worked on the much anticipated independent movie spoof "My Big Fat Independent Movie" where he plays the role of Antonio Banderas in El Mariachi, alongside Paget Brewster and Pauly Shore.
In the US and Latin America, Manolo has had guest-star appearances in TV shows such as "Passions", "ER", "CSI Miami", "Los Beltran", "The Young and the Restless", "Angeles", "Ally McBeal" and in various episodes of the day time soap "General Hospital" in which he plays Detective Torrance.
In theater, Manolo has participated as the lead in various professional plays such as The Bird Cage", "Salon Mexico", "Strawberry and Chocolate", "Death of a Salesman" and he recently made his directorial debut with the play "Art" which was chosen to play at the International Theater Festival of Los Angeles (FITLA).
