Stand-up comedian Krushna Abhishek has said that he and the team of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ have taken a “small break” from each other.

Amidst all the rumours, going on whether Krushna will be part of the show or not, the comedian shared: “For a time being me and the Kapil Sharma team have taken a small break. I have no personal grudges with Kapil Sharma as he is a lovely human being. As of now I have to see how things work out.”

Mumbai, March 11 (Ians) Actors Karenvir Bohra and Zareen Khan will star in a horror comedy titled "Patalpani: Azad Desh Ke Ghulam Bhoot".

Directed by Raaj Aashoo, the cast of the film will also feature Illa Arun, Rajesh Sharma, Ali Asgar, Aditi Govitrikar, Upasna Singh and Sumit Gulati.

"This one is going to be super fun. We are going on floors this month by considering all the safety precautions and, yes, we are looking forward to releasing it soon," said director Aashoo.

"Patalpani" will go on floors this month. The film revolves around the past and present scenarios of society in a tongue-im-cheek manner.

The film is produced by Pancham Singh and Karanvir's wife, actress Teejay Sidhu.

Actor-comedian Ali Asgar has started loving his job all over again after lockdown. He says he has started giving more value to his work after sitting idle at home for almost a year.

"It was unexpected and nobody ever thought of a word called 'lockdown' would enter our lives. It was quite difficult in the beginning, thinking about what will happen over the next few days, but after a few days we all got used to it. We started talking with our family and friends over the phone. I think our country has managed this pandemic really well and because of that today we are standing next to each other. If you see in the European countries, the situation is still not pleasant but I hope and pray that everything becomes normal over there, too," Asgar told Ians.

"As an actor, we didn't know what was going to happen in the next one year.

Mumbai, Jan 20: TV actor Ali Asgar, popular as 'dadi' on "Comedy Nights With Kapil", says superstar Salman Khan offered him a role in "Kick", but he could not do it because of his prior commitments to daily soaps.

However, Ali, who worked with Salman in "Partner", hopes to work with the superstar again in future.

"I got an offer for the film ('Kick'), when we went for 'Bigg Boss Saath-7'. There, Salman bhai asked me to do a film. On the sets, Salman said: 'Will you do a film with me?' I said, 'Yes, sir'. New Delhi, July 17: An upcoming track on fun-fantasy show "Jeannie Aur Juju" goes back to an ancient era, where lead actor Giaa Manek and Ali Asgar will play double roles. Ali says it was "great fun" shooting for the twist.

Ali plays Captain Vicky on the show.

"It has been great fun shooting for the track as Giaa and me are both playing double roles. Apart from playing Vicky, I'm also playing a prince who lived 200 years ago," Ali said in a statement.

Vicky, a commoner on the show, will be seen in the role of a prince, while Jeannie, a magical entity, will be seen essaying the role of a pauper.

Mumbai, June 28: Despite getting flak for playing women again and again on the small screen, Ali Asgar donned is again seen playing a female character in "Comedy Nights With Kapil". He says novelty is not always possible.

"It is not easy to do something new every time... We say that we should do something new but entertainment is an expensive medium. There is a lot of hard work and research," Ali, who also plays Juju in fun-fantasy show "Jeannie Aur Juju", told Ians.

"When channel people do something new, it is after a lot of hard work. It is also about getting acceptance from people," he added.

Mumbai, June 23: Actor Ali Asgar says he fails to understand the reason behind his being offered a woman's role in comedy shows even though he has maintained a distance from such characters for almost a year.

Ali played the role of a woman in the TV show "Comedy Circus" and is again seen essaying the role of an old woman in Colors' comedy show "Comedy Nights with Kapil".

"There is no dearth of male roles. I am doing this woman's role after a year. I am surprised why people keep offering me women's roles. Maybe it is because I am good at it," Ali said.

New Delhi, June 17: Veteran actors Zeenat Aman and Manoj Kumar's chemistry in the classic number "Hai hai yeh majboori" from the movie 1974 movie "Roti Kapda Aur Makaan" has been recreated for a monsoon special episode of TV show "Jeannie Aur Juju".

Inspired by the classic monsoon romance, Jeannie, played by actress Giaa Manek, has adorned Zeenat's look, while Juju, essayed by actor Ali Asgar, will be seen reprising Manoj's look.

New Delhi, April 3: "Life Mein Hungama Hai", a movie based on Ruskin Bond's novel "The Running Away", will hit the screens April 26.

Directed by Sunil Advani, the film narrates the story of two young students in a boarding school in the foothills of Himalaya, and their adventures.

Actor Saksham Kulkarni and known child model Sonu Bakshi are playing the lead roles in the film. The cast also includes Jackie Shroff, Urmila Matondkar, Paresh Rawal, Boman Irani, Mukesh Tiwari, Satish Shah, Alok Nath, Ali Asgar, Upasna Singh and Jaya Bhattacharya.

Mumbai, Feb 3: "Jeannie Aur Juju" came as a respite for Ali Asgar, who had enough of playing woman on the small screen. Not only that, donning the garb of a woman spelled trouble for his school going son too.

Best remembered for playing Kamal in "Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii", he was often seen playing a woman in "Comedy Circus".

"It became very monotonous for me to play a girl again and again. I did it in two or three places, and it was very scary to think that the audience may also find it monotonous," he told Ians.

Mumbai, Oct 31: TV actress Giaa Manek is elated about being a part of "Jeannie Aur Juju", inspired by the famous Us TV series "I Dream of Jeannie", which she watched as a child.

Giaa, who became popular as Gopi Bahu in "Saath Nibhaana Saathiya", will play genie in the show.
