John E. Vitali
- Actor
- Second Unit Director or Assistant Director
- Producer
John Vitali was born in Wynnewood, Pennsylvania. (just outside the
Philadelphia border) to John J. & Lucy Vitali. Raised in a strict
household, as well as attending Catholic schools, John found himself
always labeled a troublemaker, due to his constant efforts to entertain
others. After high school, knowing that he wanted an entertainment
career, he worked a regular job while acquiring acting jobs in any
local films and TV spots available (his television debut being a
criminal on America's Most Wanted), as well as performing stand up
comedy. After years of frustration due to the lack of film and TV
production in Philadelphia, he began to write a screenplay based on his
own experiences with a deck hockey (street hockey played in sneakers)
team that he had established in order to keep his childhood pals
together in their latter years. Eventually, having no filmmaking
experience, nor any funding whatsoever, John accumulated 21 credit
cards, put together his own production company, hired actors & crew,
and began filming, directing and starring in his first leading role as
Anthony in _Demo Crew, The (2001). This led to other roles in
independent films like Pure (2001), Better Days (2001), & Joyful Joyful (2002).
Registering with S.A.G. as John E. Vitali ("John Vitali" was taken by
another member), John is now a professional actor/director/writer,
working coast to coast. He is in the process of writing his most recent
screenplay, The Outside Lane, intended to go into preproduction in
2003. Catch John as "Father Mark" in Tony 'n' Tina's Wedding now
playing in Philadelphia.
