German distributor Dolphin Medien has partnered with U.K. horror production house Red Shadow Studios on horror films based on public domain children’s properties Winnie the Pooh and Peter Pan, it was revealed at the ongoing Cannes film market.
“Winnie the Pooh: Death House,” described by the makers as “The Strangers” meets “The Purge,” is a stylized serial killer slant on A.A. Milne’s beloved character, which recently entered the public domain. The film is written by Red Shadow’s Adam Stephen Kelly and is directed by S.J. Evans (“Dead of the Nite”). The story centres around an unexpected school reunion in a remote country mansion – an event orchestrated by members of a cult who were mercilessly tormented by the guests as children. Now, years later, they’re out for gruesome revenge. Filming is underway at U.K. locations.

Wrexham Afc, the Welsh soccer club recently taken over by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is to be the subject of “A League Apart,” a British romantic comedy from Mad As Birds, producers of “The Vanishing,” starring Gerard Butler.
To be directed by S.J. Evans (“Hiraeth”), the film will follow Phil, a lovable yet down-on-his-luck man obsessed with his failing Wrexham Afc soccer team. His American girlfriend, Christina, wants more out of life and love and Phil must prove that she is more important to him than his soccer team winning.
While “A League Apart” is a work of fiction, its climax is centered around the real-life 1992 Fa Cup clash between bottom of the league underdogs Wrexham and reigning Division One champions, Arsenal.
The project is in the final stages of development, with plans to begin filming in the summer of 2021.

In 2012,the deceased have risen from their graves with only one instinct-to feed on the living. Academics speculate on the scientific cause of the phenomena and theologians point to the Armageddon foretold in the Book of Revelation. But as the cities are over run and civilization crumbles, four generations of one family take refuge from the undead army in an isolated farmhouse in West Wales.
Based on the 1968 zombie classic, Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection is not a direct remake of George Romero’s original, instead it takes inspiration from the original movie, often playing with the audiences expectations and subverting the events that you would expect, given the trend of “remakes”, to take place.

Not be confused with Lucio Fulci’s “City of the Living Dead” (aka “The Gates of Hell” in the Us) or Umberto Lenzi’s similarly sounding “Nightmare City” (aka “City of the Walking Dead” in the Us), this is actually the 1960 supernatural thriller “The City of the Dead” by John Llewellyn Moxey. Got that? Good. Now, moving on… Pillay-Evans Productions has announced today that they’ve teamed up with producer Adam Stephen Kelly to develop a remake of the Moxey film, which is also known as “Horror Hotel” in the States. The remake will be directed by S.J. Evans (“Dead of the Nite”), who promises: The remake of The City Of The Dead will stay true to the original and concentrate on atmosphere and good old fashioned storytelling, instead of relying on gore or CGI to move the plot along. Pillay-Evans Productions and producer Adam Stephe Kelly are pairing up to remake the 1960s British horror film, The City of the Dead, or, as it was known in the U.S., Horror Hotel.
S.J. Evans (Tattoos: A Scarred History) is on board to write and direct.
“The remake of The City of the Dead will stay true to the original and concentrate on atmosphere and good old fashioned storytelling, instead of relying on gore or CGI to move the plot along," says Evans. "I grew up watching the classic Universal horrors and was inspired by how the likes of James Whale created this sense of dread and unease with just a look. I want to bring that style of filmmaking back to the big screen instead of another music video, quick-cut horror film. We are all very excited by the prospect of bringing one of the greatest witchcraft films ever...
