You know you’re up to something special when your job involves replicating the kind of chocolate that “The Shawshank Redemption” used to create the mud that Andy Dufresne breaks through to freedom. But that is exactly what production designer Carmen Navis needed to do to make Mo Najjar’s (Mo Amer) own escape from an immigration detention facility — in a dream sequence, anyway — work as such a hilarious, heightened, poignant part of “Mo” Season 2.
The dream sequences throughout the final season of the Netflix comedy use cinematic signifiers and genre conceits to help tell the story of the big emotions that Mo’s feeling as he goes from being stranded in Mexico City to being deported but monitored in America to finally getting legal status and being able to visit his extended family in the West Bank. For every twist and turn of the story, Navis and her team...

It's only a matter of hours now until we get more of Mo Najjar's Arab and Texan flare that we've missed! He has such a can-do attitude no matter what life throws at him and his family, and it's certainly infectious when you watch. We can't wait to start streaming the new season! So when can you do so?
Mo season 2 premieres Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 at 12 a.m. Pt on Netflix. There's no split season situation here as all 8 episodes drop on premiere day. The release time is a late one, especially for a weekday for those of us in the U.S. Though this is the typical time Netflix releases all of its new content.
And, hey. Most of the episodes are around the 30-minute mark. It'll be easy for you to squeeze in at least a couple before bed! Well, whether you're watching from here in the U.S.

When the story picks up with Mo Najjar in Mo season 2 this month, he definitely has a lot on his plate. And getting back into the U.S. after crossing the border into Mexico isn't going to be his biggest problem, as revealed in the official trailer.
Mo season 2 premieres Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 with all 8 episodes on Netflix. As we saw by the end of season 1, the Palestinian refugee and his family still haven't gotten a U.S. citizenship despite being in the country for over 20 years. That means he can't leave or he loses his asylum.
Though due to a few factors, he accidentally ends up in Mexico. So what happens next? It's not an easy way back home, and the trailer shows us how long he's been gone. We shared it below:
Poor guy has been in Mexico for six months, which is not a short amount of time!

Straight out of Houston, Texas, Netflix has revealed the official trailer and key art for the second season of its Mo series. The award-winning comedy from Netflix and A24 returns on January 30 for the conclusion of Mo’s journey.
In Mo Season 2, Mo Najjar straddles the line between two cultures, three languages and a ton of bull**** as a Palestinian on the path to U.S. citizenship. The new episodes find Mo stranded across the border and desperate to return to Houston before his family’s asylum hearing.
As a stateless refugee without a passport, Mo is going to need all the hustle and charm he can muster. Little does he know that the journey home is just the start of his troubles, and there’s a new guy in town ready to steal both his longtime love Maria, and his dream of finally returning to Palestine.

Mo Amer’s meta Netflix series “Mo” is back for Season 2, and this time, Amer is joined by more than a few comedy pals.
Hannibal Buress, Liza Koshy, Matt Rife, Ralph Barbosa, and Slim Thug join the eight-episode season of the critically acclaimed show co-created by Amer and Ramy Youssef (who also has his own eponymous semi-autobiographical series).
Amer plays alter-ego Mo Najjar in the show, a character who straddles the line between two cultures, three languages, and “a ton of bullshit as a Palestinian on the path to U.S. citizenship,” according to the logline.
Season 2 finds Mo stranded across the border and desperate to get back to Houston before his family’s asylum hearing; but as a stateless refugee without a passport, Mo “needs all the hustle and charm he can muster,” as the synopsis reads. “Little does he know that the journey home is just the start of his troubles,...

If you were a fan of Mo season 1 on Netflix when it first debuted in August 2022, then you'll be happy to know that the second season finally has a release date! The streamer renewed the show back in January 2023, and we've been waiting for it ever since!
Well, the wait is almost over! Mo season 2 premieres Thursday, Jan. 30, 2025 on Netflix. Just like the first season, you can expect another 8 episodes to finish up the story. Because that's right, this is also the final season of the comedy-drama. The release date has been set about two years after Netflix first announced the renewal news. I'm not going to complain. I'm just looking forward to the premiere at this point.
Season 1 ended with Mo accidentally finding himself in Mexico, which is really bad news for someone who doesn't have a passport or U.S. citizenship yet. How is he going to get himself out of this one?...

It might be more than just a Trolls soundtrack song.
In an interview with Kelly Clarkson for her talk show Monday, Justin Timberlake teased that he and the *Nsync boys — Jc Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick — have been making music.
“We’ve been in the studio,” Timberlake told Clarkson. “So there may be a little something in the future.”
Timberlake nodded after the crowd erupted in applause. Before then, he reflected on how quickly the guys picked things back up when they made “Better Place” for Trolls Band Together last year.

Justin Timberlake just delivered the first televised performances of his new era, and he included a surprise.
The 42-year-old “SexyBack” hitmaker was the musical guest on the January 27 episode of Saturday Night Live. While he snuck into a skit alongside close pal Jimmy Fallon, the biggest surprise of the night was that Justin live-debuted a new song called “Sanctified.”
Head inside to watch Justin Timberlake’s performances…
A duet with Tobe Nwigwe, “Sanctified” is a midtempo with an easy production and some sensual lyrics.
“Something about / How we break all of the rules / Make a sinner feel so blessed / You take all of my wrongs,” he sings, adding, “Make me a new man / And I’m sanctified.”
He also crooned “Selfish,” the lead single to his forthcoming album Everything I Thought It Was.

In Steven Caple, Jr.'s new film "Transformers: Rise of the Beasts," Anthony Ramos plays a character named Noah who has fallen on financial hard times. In an act of desperation, he agrees to break into a museum to steal a car and sell it to Reek (rapper Tobe Nwigwe), an associate of his in the criminal underground. What Noah doesn't know is that the car he is stealing is, in fact, a robot in disguise. After a chase with the police -- a chase in which the car seems to drive itself and project holographic duplicates into the lanes surrounding it -- the robot transforms into a mechanical humanoid and introduces itself as Mirage. Mirage is a Transformer from the planet Cybertron, and who works as a soldier for the stern robot commander Optimus Prime. Mirage is voiced by Pete Davidson and is the "laidback" and "funny" Transformer, often...

The Transformers: Rise of the Beasts cast features both familiar actors from the previous entries in the franchise and exciting newcomers making their first appearance in a Transformers movie. Set in 1994, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts revolves around a pair of Brooklyn archeologists who embark on a globetrotting journey with the Autobots and, along the way, contend with three new factions of Transformers: the Maximals, the Predacons, and the Terrorcons. Michael Bay isn’t in the director’s chair for this one — it’s directed by Creed II’s Steven Caple, Jr. — but Bay is on board as a producer for this next chapter in the Transformers franchise and the new cast members it brings.
Rather than checking in on existing characters like Shia Labeouf’s Sam Witwicky, Mark Wahlberg’s Cade Yeager, or Hailee Steinfeld’s Charlie Watson, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts introduces all-new protagonists to the Transformers franchise.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts marks the 7th film in the Transformers series, giving us a brand new narrative, new characters (introducing the “Maximals”), and some fresh settings in the 15-year-old movie franchise. Technically a follow-up to 2018’s Bumblebee, the film brings us to 1994 New York City, where the Autobots and new human adversaries have to band together to stop evil Decepticons from destroying Earth. While on the surface, that description might not sound like anything new, Rise of the Beasts brings a different style and atmosphere to the series, doing a solid job of reenergizing it.

There have been plenty of Transformers Rise of the Beasts updates that give a full look at the new Transformers movie's cast, new and returning Transformers, story details, and how it is connected to the overall Transformers franchise ahead of the June 2023 release. Paramount launched the Transformers film series based on Hasbro's iconic toys in 2007 with Michael Bay directing and Shia Labeouf's Sam Witwicky in the lead. After five entries in the main franchise (the latter two led by Mark Wahlberg), it was decided to take the Autobots in a new direction that will continue in Transformers 7. Most notably, the new Transformers movie will draw from the Beast Wars cartoon for the first time.
After the disappointment of Michael Bay's Transformers: The Last Knight, Paramount used Bumblebee as a soft reboot for the Transformers franchise. With a small budget and focus, the movie was a hit, with Hailee Steinfeld as the new lead.
