Liam is of English, Norwegian, German, Spanish, and Native American ancestry.

Liam was born and raised in Edina, Minnesota. He is a student at South View Middle School, in Edina, Minnesota.

Liam is the son of actors Stephen Hage and Lara Trujillo. He is the youngest of four siblings, with three older sisters.

Liam's first "performance" was as the Baby Jesus, in a Christmas Eve Service, when he was six months old. His first appearance on stage was as an orphan boy in a Mill City Summer Opera Company production of Sweeney Todd, at the age of six. Liam's first appearance in film was as a student in a Science Museum of Minnesota promotional video, at the age of eight.
