Mumbai, Aug 9: Fashion designer Krishna Mehta has worked with Manipuri handloom for her new line which she will showcase at the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week (Lfw) Winter/ Festive 2013 here. She says the onus of keeping handloom alive lies upon designers.
"It is our duty as designers to ensure that we keep handloom alive," Mehta told Ians.
Through her collection, she wants to give handloom and craftsmen from Manipur a worthy platform.
"I would like to bring forth the work which they do for the other designers to see. Just because they don't really know what the world is like, they are in their own cocoon and in a valley.

Quamar, who showcased at the Lakme Fashion Week (Lfw) Winter/Festive 2011 here, aims to glorify the message of 'moksha' (spiritual liberation) through her line.
'My theme for this collection is inspired by the Buddha and Krishna and it is all about attaining moksha,' Quamar told Ians in an interview.
Her show, which will have 16 designs, will be held Sunday, the concluding.

Organized by StyleKandy magazine in association with a voluntary organization ‘Breakthrough’, the show was aimed to spread awareness towards domestic violence against women.
The show with a tag line ‘Bell Bajao’ had the whole fashion fraternity supporting the cause.
Prominent designers like Archana Kocchar, Rocky S, Neeta Lulla and Krishna Mehta showcased their collections.

June 3, 2010: The Pearl Academy of Fashion organized one of the biggest fashion events the ‘Portfolio ‘2010’ in Jaipur with the help of its students. The second batch of graduating students of the 4-year BA (Honours) participated in making it a success. This institute offers courses in fashion designing, jewellery designing and textiles.

Rajan Shahi’s Maat Pitaah Ke Charno Mein Swarg on colors has Vrindavan as the backdrop. Everyone believes in Lord Krishna and a celebration was kept on the sets on the occasion of Janmasthmi where aarti was followed by bhajans and dahi handi and throwing color on one another.
