Sunni Faba-Gutu

Sunni Faba-Gutu is a Creative Producer and SAFTA winning writer/director. She works as a Head Writer overseeing the story room, writers and running the entire development process for multiple television shows. She was the Head Writer for How to Ruin Christmas: The Baby Shower (NETFLIX) after writing on the first and second seasons. She was also the Head Writer for popular titles The Herd II (Mzansi Magic); The Imposter II (Mzansi Magic) and medical drama Vutha (SABC). For the telenovela Broken Vows (eTV) she served as Creative Producer and writer.
Sunni has been a story developer, editor, scriptwriter and storyliner for hit shows such as Ayeye (Vuzu), Isibaya (Mzansi Magic), Housekeepers (Mzansi Magic) and Isiphindiselo (eTV) to name a few. She has also worked as a dialogue editor for the SAFTA winning Black Tax (BET).
Her festival directorial debut film Ebumnyameni, was picked up by Amazon Prime and an official selection for the Johannesburg Film Festival and the Africa International Film Festival in Nigeria.
Sunni runs Khawuta Pictures - a company specialising in story development, story consulting and writing with a focus on story creation and idea execution; providing a full-service development offering for local and international broadcasters and streamers.
Sunni was one of Mail and Gaurdians Top 200 Young South Africans and holds a Dramatic Arts Honours Degree from the Wits School of Arts.
