Jack Fisher, President of FilmRise, began his directing career with the feature documentary "A Generation Apart", a film about the impact of the Holocaust on families of survivors. "A Generation Apart" has won wide critical acclaim, and has been broadcast on PBS, as well as internationally.

Jack made his feature film directing debut with Torn Apart (1990), a story about an Israeli soldier who falls in love with a Palestinian woman. The film stars Adrian Pasdar and, in her first screen appearance, Cecilia Peck, daughter of Gregory Peck. Torn Apart (1990) premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and was subsequently exhibited theatrically throughout the world. The film has been broadcast on Cinemax, released on Home Video through Warner Bros., and has aired on the Romance Classics channel.

Jack's feature documentary Unforgotten: Twenty-Five Years After Willowbrook (1996) has won numerous awards, including the National Educational Media Network's Gold Apple Award and the Grand Prize for best documentary at the Atlantic City Film Festival. "Unforgotten" was a finalist at the Media Access Awards, and was selected as an official entry in the Chicago International Film Festival.

Jack has directed numerous television commercials and corporate videos over the past two decades. His television commercial credits include a public service announcement for HeartShare produced through Grey Advertising that features Danny Aiello and John Turturro, and an anti-bigotry public service announcement for the Anti-Defamation League, featuring Jason Alexander.

Jack co-founded City Lights Media, a company that produced 63 TV shows, dozens of movies in a three year period, and was one of the largest post production facilities in the country.

Jack is currently working on creating proprietary channels for his company, FilmRise, one of the fastest growing digital distribution companies in the world. Jack is also developing a dramatic project for television titled Manic.
