For a day with a hard and stressful deadline, Tristar’s One of Them Days starring music artist Sza and Keke Palmer has a soundtrack that reduces stress and emphasizes the comedy of the film.

The premise hinges on Palmer’s Dreux and Sza’s Alyssa, two roommates who find themselves scrambling for rent money when Alyssa’s boyfriend Keshawn (Joshua David Neal) took their original payment to try out a creative endeavor. Their landlord Uche (Rizi Timane) comes knocking with the threat that if they can’t come up with $1,500 by 6 p.m., they’ll be evicted.

“One of Them Days” follows the quirky and hilarious journey two besties, Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (Sza) embark on in an effort to get rent money after Alyssa’s boyfriend misuses it.

“One of Them Days” was written by Syreeta Singleton (“Rap Sh!t”), directed by Lawrence Lamont (“Rap Sh!t”) and executive produced by Rae and Palmer. Other producers for the film include Deniese Davis, Sara Rastogi, James Lopez and Poppy Hanks.

The music for “One of Them Days” was done by Chanda Dancy, and Sarah Bromberg and Stephanie Diaz-Matos served as music supervisors for the film.

NPR’s Tiny Desk might be small, but Flo Milli’s presence as a performer made expansive use of the space. The rapper made her debut on the live performance series with a set that spanned her growing catalogue of hits, kicking off with rock versions of the ultimate self-affirmation anthem “Conceited” and the biting Ho, Why Is You Here? single “Bed Time.”

Tierra Whack stopped by NPR for her first Tiny Desk Concert, performing a captivating set of old and new songs, and bringing out a special guest, the Phillie Phanatic.

Whack kicked off the performance with a number of tracks from her 2018 mixtape Whack World — “Flea Market,” “Pretty Ugly,” and more — bringing them to life with a seven-piece band dubbed The Big Backs. Then, she dove into material from her recently-released debut studio album, World Wide Whack.

One highlight came when Whack, a Philadelphia native, was joined by the Phillie Phanatic, who provided backup dancing for her performance of the World Wide Whack cut “Moovies.” Watch the full Tiny Desk Concert below.

Whack’s appearance came as part of NPR’s celebration of Black Music Month, which will see nine Black female artists perform on Tiny Desk: Whack, Tems, Chaka Khan, Kierra Sheard, Lakecia Benjamin, Meshell Ndegeocello, Brittney Spencer, Swv, and Flo Milli.

Latto has dropped a remix of her single “Sunday Service” featuring Megan Thee Stallion and Flo Milli. The new version of the track arrived alongside a music video, which was seemingly shot backstage on tour and features some serious twerking.

South by Southwest (SXSW) is heading to London, England. After nearly four decades in Austin, Texas the multidisciplinary festival will launch across the pond in June 2025.

The European fest plans to takeover dozens of dozens of venues, galleries, clubs, and other spaces in Shoreditch in the East End. Similar to SXSW in Austin, the London iteration promises to feature music showcases and keynote speakers, along with exhibitions in tech, visual arts, and fashion. Gunna is nearly ready to unleash his forthcoming studio album One of Wun — but he won’t say when it’s coming. The rapper shared the title of the record on Monday and unveiled its accompanying cover art, created by the visual artist Calvin Clausell Jr. In the image, Gunna’s face is concealed beneath a mess of blue and white flower petals.

While the project doesn’t yet have an official release date, it will likely arrive just in time for Gunna to kick off The Bittersweet Tour with Flo Milli in May.
