Kalee is a TV writer based in Los Angeles. In June, 2023 you can watch the Netflix show she wrote on "Not Quite Narwhal" from DreamWorks Animation.
She began her career as a journalist in Australia until her draw to filmmaking grew too large to be denied. She wrote, directed and produced three short films before work as an assistant director brought her to the US on such TV shows as "24", "Alias" and "Cold Case".
In 2009 she wrote, directed & produced a feature documentary "Australians Hit Hollywood" that won several awards on the festival circuit. She has written, directed and produced several short films in the US including her most recent "Weddings Inc.", which is the cold open of a TV sitcom she is pitching to producers. It was shot by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Dean Cundey ("Jurassic Park", "Back to the Future") and stars Daisy Betts (NBC's "Chicago Fire") and Alex Menses (NBC's "Telenovela"). "Weddings Inc." recently won The Maury Austin Award for excellence in Directing & Best Ensemble Cast at The Idyllwild International Festival of Cinema.
Whilst writing coverage on scripts for Crystal Lake Entertainment Kalee discovered a feature film she loved and is now re-writing that optioned script. She is developing and producing the film with the company.
Kalee has studied TV writing at UCLA and the Writing Pad, is an alum of the Australians in Film Writer's Room, and had two scripts selected to be hosted on The Black List when chosen as a semi-finalist in the 2017 Women in Film/ Black list Episodic Lab.
