"Star Trek: Section 31" takes the franchise on a road less traveled by bringing back "Star Trek: Discovery" standout Philippa Georgiou (Michelle Yeoh) and putting her in charge of a heist. Unlike the "Star Wars'" take on the heist movie theme in 2016's "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," the often more idealistic and pacifistic "Trek" opts for a far more light-hearted route. "Star Trek: Section 31" is B-movie trash in the best possible way, as the Academy Award winning Yeoh rocks her fallen tyrant character's new role as the head of arguably the most ragtag team a "Star Trek" project has ever given fans.
Among the key members of the film's Section 31 special ops team is the unpredictable and intense Fuzz, who probably wouldn't be a main character in just about any other "Star Trek" film. Fuzz is played by South African actor Sven Ruygrok, a rising star who's been making...

Even though she's no stranger to Netflix, having starred in the streamer's original movies Outlaw King, Malevolent, and The Wonder, Academy Award-nominated actress Florence Pugh's biggest Netflix role is still to come. The talented star will lead the cast of Netflix's upcoming limited series East of Eden, based on the novel of the same name by John Steinbeck.
Pugh first became attached to star when word of the project was revealed by Deadline back in June 2022, but Netflix officially gave the limited series the green light in September 2024. Along with Pugh leading the cast, three additional cast members were announced at the time of the green light: Christopher Abbott, Mike Faist, and Hoon Lee.
On Oct. 21, the ensemble cast of East of Eden was rounded out with Tracy Letts, Matha Plimpton, Ciarán Hinds, Joseph Zada, and Joe Anders. With the cast set, it's reported that production on the seven-episode...

Two years ago, we brought you the news that Florence Pugh had signed on to star in a new adaptation of East Of Eden, John Steinbeck's 1952 literary epic. In the time since the project — a seven-part Netflix limited series written by Zoe Kazan (The Big Sick) — was first announced, Christopher Abbott has joined the show's cast and Pugh's star has continued to rise with winning turns in the likes of The Wonder, Oppenheimer, and Dune: Part Two. And now we're getting an exciting new casting announcement for the series as Netflix has officially greenlit the project. Per Deadline's reporting, Challengers star Mike Faist has joined the ensemble, and whilst earlier indications suggested he will be playing Cal Trask, the part James Dean famously played in Elia Kazan's 1955 movie, it looks instead like he'll be playing the novel's Cain figure, Charles, instead.

Cobra Kai Season 6 is finally here and it’s even better than the last one, which no one thought was possible. The Netflix series follows the story of Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who has kind of left bullying and turned into a karate instructor. The series continues the story of the 1984 film The Karate Kid, in which Johnny lost the “All Valley Karate Tournament” to his enemy Daniel (Ralph Macchio). In the series, Johnny inspires weak kids to learn karate so that they can stand up to their bullies and fight to protect themselves. Still, everything goes wrong in a very entertaining way and many iconic characters from the Karate Kid movies appear in the series. So, if you love the teen drama, action comedy, and martial arts in Cobra Kai here are some similar shows you could watch while waiting for Cobra Kai Season 6 Part 2.

Into the Badlands is “a high-octane sci-fi martial arts series” created by Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. The AMC series is set in a dystopian future with humanity in ruins because of wars, and it follows the story of Sunny, a fierce warrior who rescues a teenager with a bounty on his head. They both journey through a dangerous territory known as the Badlands to survive. Into the Badlands stars Daniel Wu in the lead role, with Orla Brady, Sarah Bolger, Aramis Knight, Emily Beecham, Oliver Stark, Madeleine Mantock, Ally Ioannides, Marton Csokas, and Nick Frost starring in supporting roles. Into the Badlands is a unique series with a unique setting, and that’s why it is hard to find a series with a similar setting and story elements, but we have tried very hard to find shows with similar story elements and many high-octane action sequences.

Antony Starr's performance as Homelander on the hit Prime Video series "The Boys" is absolutely incredible. He manages to give tiny moments of humanity that appear through the cracks in his villainous facade, making the character so much more than just a monster who's really into milk. Starr is excellent at portraying badasses with a penchant for murder, and while Homelander is pure villain, he once played a much more complicated kind of killer.
Before he was Homelander, Antony Starr starred as the morally ambiguous but unspeakably charming Lucas Hood on the Cinemax series "Banshee," which aired from 2013 through 2016. In "Banshee," Starr plays a world-class thief who took the fall during a botched job to protect his team, spending 15 years in prison. When he's released, he ends up in the fictional town of Banshee, Pennsylvania, where the Amish, an Indigenous crime organization, skinheads, and more are almost always at war.

Well, this one's a true shocker.
Max has made the shocking decision to cancel Warrior.
The decision comes months after Warrior Season 3 wrapped on the streaming service.
Max rarely releases viewership statistics like many other streaming services, so it's difficult to assess how well the show performed.
The only good news to come from the cancellation is that Netflix has picked up the rights to past episodes of the series.
Deadline first reported the news, revealing that the show is set to hit Netflix in February 2024.
If the show proves to be a success with the service's subscribers, it could lead to additional seasons being produced.
Netflix has picked up many canceled shows in the past, including Cobra Kai, Longmire, and Manifest, so the company could be seen as a decent destination to get fresh episodes.
If the series does secure a reprieve at Netflix, it would mark its third U.

Martial arts drama Warrior has been cancelled by Sky – but there’s an outside chance that Netflix may make more episodes.
Before he became an international kung fu superstar thanks to films like Way Of The Dragon, in which he famously went hand to hand with Chuck Norris in Rome’s Colosseum, and Enter The Dragon (which features an equally iconic climactic battle which takes place in a hall of mirrors), Bruce Lee was an integral part of what made seminal 1960s show The Green Hornet a huge success.
Although his film career soon took off, had things turned out differently Lee would have continued to make an impact on the small screen. He’s generally accepted as being involved in creating the concept for Kung Fu, the drama that eventually starred David Carradine as Kwai Chang Caine, the pacifist who ended up in several fights every week.

The revival of Warrior at Max turned out to be short-lived: The Warner Bros. Discovery streamer has canceled the show after its first season as a Max original and third overall.
That said, the series — based on writings by Bruce Lee and set in 19th century San Francisco — will potentially get in front of more viewers beginning in February 2024 as all three seasons will stream on Netflix. Max’s “Warrior,” a breakthrough series boasting one of the few Asian ensembles on television, has been canceled after three seasons. The series’ repeats will live on, however, via a off-net deal with Netflix, which has acquired the series’ run in a non-exclusive deal and could now potentially expose it to a new audience. (The show will also continue to be available on Max.)

Andrew Koji, Olivia Cheng, Jason Tobin, Dianne Doan, Kieran Bew, Dean Jagger, Tom Weston-Jones, Hoon Lee, Perry Yung, Langley Kirkwood, Miranda Raison, Chen Tang, Chelsea Muirhead, Mark Dacascos and Joe Taslim star.

Warrior won’t be returning for a fourth season on Max.
However, the existing three seasons of the martial arts crime drama are set to find additional audiences as Netflix has picked up the series’ library in a co-exclusive deal with Max in Warner Bros. Discovery streamer’s markets.
Warrior is expected to debut on Netflix in February 2024. If it does well, Netflix could presumably order a new season of the drama based on an original concept and treatment by Bruce Lee, sources tell Deadline exclusively.
This latest move sets Warrior in its third home in as many years. Shows with the most nudity are widely discussed for their raunchy content and boundary-pushing. American broadcast networks face FCC regulations on nudity, but premium networks like HBO are known for it. Popular shows like Game of Thrones and Euphoria feature graphic sex scenes and nudity, becoming less shocking over time.

Netflix's "The Monkey King" falls short due to a poor script that lacks a dramatic center and fails to hook the audience. The film initially presents a clear motivation for the Monkey King's character, but fails to explore this emotional thread further. The lack of dramatic focus and disjointed plot make it difficult for viewers to care about the characters and their goals in the film.
