Born in Chauri Chaura, Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, India, Arvind Pratap is a self-taught screenwriter, editor and director based in Mumbai. After completing an MBA in marketing, he decided to pursue a career in film making. The Reluctant Crime (2020), Pratap's first feature, won Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Supporting Actor at Antakya International Film Festival. Arvind Pratap's second experimental feature Life is Suffering Death is Salvation got its world premiere at International Film Festival of Kerala. Mariam is his third feature film which is recipient of Asian Cinema Fund and it also got official selection for world premiere at the Busan International Film festival.
