Katie Mustard is an international Producer and Film/TV Executive based in the EU with 20 years + of experience working in 25 countries across all aspects of media production.
Katie's producing credits include 40 feature films (including 9 premieres at Sundance), 22 TV series for Netflix as a production executive, and dozens of documentaries, shorts, and commercials. Her expertise includes team leadership and management, slate planning, production and financial management, budgeting and scheduling productions, contract negotiation, cost tracking, analytical thinking, creative thinking, vendor relationships, risk management and creative/logistical development of content. Katie specializes in production consulting and producing in EMEA where she has deep production expertise and a strong network: she is uniquely experienced in successfully navigating the opportunities and challenges a US studio or production faces in these regions.
A passionate and curious world-citizen, Katie has produced content in 25 countries including France, Croatia, China, Turkey, Italy, India, Canada, Romania, USA, Cayman Islands, Nepal, Morocco, and the arctic regions of South America. She has also traveled to 70+ countries. It was no surprise therefore that Katie joined Netflix in 2018 as an international production executive responsible for driving the global expansion of Netflix's original productions: her initial remit was Turkey, Poland, Sweden, Bulgaria, Belgium, and Lithuania. Her work on such a broad slate made her a key contributor to establishing best practices, workflows, and cross-functional collaborations that served as the basis for Netflix's continued scaling across these regions.
In 2021, Katie relocated to Istanbul Turkey to help establish a Netflix Turkey studio to drive the company's long-term success in the region. She shepherded numerous initiatives and supported local producing partners and cross-functional colleagues to reach ambitious volume and quality goals within a challenging market.
Katie has also passionately committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the industry. She is a member of the DGA, the PGA, IFP, and Women Production Society. She served for 10 years the lead production advisor for the Venice Biennale Cinema Fund to support global emerging talent.
In 2023, Katie returned to producing and production consulting with a focus on English language content shooting in Europe and the Middle East. She is based in Amsterdam with her husband and two children.
