She is a physician assistant who was chosen to join the crew of the world's first all-civilian space mission, Inspiration4, on a Falcon 9 rocket made by SpaceX. She would be the the first person with a prosthetic body part in space and the youngest American ever to orbit Earth. She had bone cancer as a child, and some of her leg bones were replaced with artificial bones.
