The Harry Potter movies are best known for following its Golden Trio of heroes. Daniel Radcliffe (Harry), Emma Watson (Hermione), and Rupert Grint (Ron) all managed to embody their characters with apparent ease. For a decade, they brought those heroes to life, making the Wizarding World into an almost tangible place.

While the Golden Trio was brought to the big screen, many other important characters were not. The movies may have adapted Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) and Severus Snape (Alan Rickman), but other supporting characters failed to earn a proper place in the movies.

Buddy cop movies are a staple of the action-comedy genre, pairing mismatched partners who must overcome their differences to chase down criminals. Director Richard Donner's Lethal Weapon series is well-known for popularizing the buddy-cop genre, as Mel Gibson's reckless cop and Danny Glover's by-the-book officer made for plenty of mishaps and over-the-top action sequences. The 1980s/90s franchise went on to inspire a new wave of buddy cop films, including Rush Hour, Bad Boys, and Shanghai Noon.

More recently, the genre has evolved with hits like 21 Jump Street, The Other Guys, The Heat, and The Nice Guys. Among the modern entries in the genre, Ride Along carved out its own space thanks to the comedic energy of Kevin Hart, which paired hilariously with Ice Cube's stoic intensity. With a $154 million global box office haul, Ride Along became a surprise hit, setting the stage for its 2016 sequel.

It was a meeting of Marvel titans at San Diego Comic-Con, where Marvel editor-in-chief C. B. Cebulski welcomed Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige for a conversation about collecting and the ways comic books inspire films (and vice versa).

Cebulski spent part of the panel showing off famous comic book art, and pared them with the scenes they inspired in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Among them was the iconic cover to 2007’s Civil War No. 7, which showed Captain America blocking Iron Man’s beam with his shield, and the cover to the 1939 classic Captain America No. 1, in which Cap punches Adolph Hitler in the face. Both moments inspired moments in Captain America: Civil War and Captain America: The First Avenger.

Feige remarked that it’d be cool if Disney+ had a feature that would allow one to scroll through a movie, and then see the comic book art that inspired the shot.

Enjoying the Harry Potter TV show will mean finally understanding why minor characters like Bill Weasley and Oliver Wood are so important. The Harry Potter series' cultural impact is undeniable, but the TV show has a chance to fill in the gaps left by the original films. Characters like Peeves and Madam Poppy Pomfrey had significant roles in the books, and the TV show should give them the recognition they deserve.

Who is James Payton? The simple answer is that James Payton is a jobbing actor. You’ve probably seen him in something. His two claims to some kind of fame are blink-and-you’ll-miss-em parts in a couple of franchises: Neville Longbottom’s dad in Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, and Hitler in the first Captain America movie. Payton’s other credits include “geography lecturer” in The Crown and “wasted guy” in a terrible Jonathan Pryce thriller from 2005. Ride Along 3 still in the works, with Ice Cube and director Tim Story passionate about the idea, but struggling to find the right concept and timing. Kevin Hart's increased popularity and busy schedule has made coordinating the film's production difficult, delaying the progress of Ride Along 3. No official confirmation or release date for Ride Along 3 yet, with the script still being worked on and the cast lineup uncertain, but the possibility of a new adventure in a foreign country has been considered.

Though this year’s breakout comedy hit Ride Along was almost entirely the Ice Cube and Kevin Hart show, Universal’s upcoming sequel, Ride Along 2, has been putting together a pretty terrific supporting cast over the past few weeks. First, we heard that 24: Live Another Day actor Benjamin Bratt had come aboard in an unspecified role. Next, Attack of the Show! host and geek goddess Olivia Munn joined the cast, taking on the role of a tough Miami homicide detective who becomes the object of Detective James Payton’s (Cube) affection. Now, we’ve learned that The Hangover and Community star Ken Jeong has hitched a ride on the comedy sequel.

And I can’t blame them, given the tremendous success that buddy comedies have found in Hollywood, particularly in recent years with action-heavy team-up comedies like 21 Jump Street and 2 Guns. Luckily, there’s more to Ride Along than just a rehash of those hits.

The main draw for most will be watching Ice Cube and Kevin Hart, two talented actors with supremely different personalities, share the screen. Cube, physically imposing and still radiating the same fierce anger that made his rapping work so iconic, fits perfectly into the role of Alabama Pd Detective James Payton, a tough-as-nails cop who relishes the chance to break protocol and kick in some heads.

Jennifer Hudson said yes to her boyfriend of less-than-a-year, David Otunga. Representative of the American Idol alumna confirmed to People that she is engaged to Otunga who proposed during her 27th birthday.

"I can confirm that Jennifer got engaged to her boyfriend David on Friday night in L.A.," the rep said. Otunga who is known also as "Punk" in reality show "I Love New York 2", reportedly presented her with a Neil Lane diamond ring when proposing.

The couple who both are from Chicago, have been dating less than a year. Before Otunga, Hudson had a long-time relationship with James Payton but broke up with him in December 2007.

Hudson will release her self-titled debut album on September 30 and her next starring role is in "The Secret Life of Bees" where she plays alongside Queen Latifah, Alicia Keys and Dakota Fanning. "Bees" will open in theaters on October 17.
