Biography

Graham Campbell is a composer and guitarist whose work spans concert halls, film, and television. As a guitarist, he performs an eclectic mix of styles including jazz, psychedelic rock, klezmer, Brazilian samba and choro, and reggae. His music has been described as "open-hearted" (The Whole Note) and having "a depth of feeling that belies simplicity" (Fanfare).

Campbell's compositions have been performed at major festivals across Canada and Europe, including Ottawa Chamberfest and Stratford Summer Music. He often collaborates with his father, clarinetist James Campbell, and their album As You Near Me showcases his talents as a composer and producer.

Campbell's film scoring credits include a wide range of genres, from sci-fi to documentaries, with his orchestral score for the animated short Predestination winning Best Original Score at the Anatolia Film Festival. His music has been featured internationally on networks like BBC, PBS, and ABC.

In addition to composing, Campbell is an active performer, playing with groups such as psychedelic Brazilian rock band Os Tropies and reggae ensemble The Human Rights. A passionate educator, he has worked with Indigenous youth through the Strings Across the Sky program and continues to foster musical curiosity in schools across Ontario.
