Laura Lionetta is a director, writer and producer best known for her debut film "The Strawberry Jam" (2023), starring Julian Morris and Kathy Searle. "The Strawberry Jam" was selected by Chicago Arthouse as the best narrative short of the year and received the prestigious Charlie Chaplin Award. She was selected by the Paris-based "Beyond the Curve" festival as the best first-time filmmaker on the basis of that short film, which also garnered the award for "Best International Short Film" from the Swedish International Film Festival.
Laura is a long-time supporter of independent film and a annual attendee and donor to Sundance Film Festival. She regularly hosts events for filmmakers, philanthropists and film financiers at the Cannes International Film Festival. She is the creative director of production company Gorgoness Films.
Laura's second film, "The Folly of Paris, Or, the Original Snub" was completed in November of 2023 and will make its festival circuit debut in 2024.
