Papa Roach and Rise Against are teaming up for the “Rise of the Roach” 2025 US tour. The two-leg outing features special guests Underoath.

The spring leg of the tour kicks off March 20th in Houston, Texas, and runs through an April 13th show in Saint Paul, Minnesota. The fall leg launches September 10th in Bridgeport, Connecticut, and wraps up with an October 5th show in West Palm Beach, Florida.

A Live Nation pre-sale starts Tuesday (November 12th) at 10 a.m. local time using the code Beats, while the general on-sale launches Thursday (November 14th) at 10 a.m. local time via Ticketmaster.

Papa Roach are technically the headliners, although the Chicago-area concert September 27th in Tinley Park, Illinois, is being billed as a co-headliner since it’s a hometown show for Rise Against.

Papa Roach have recorded a new version of their song “Leave a Light On (Talk Away the Dark)” with Carrie Underwood. The collaboration finds the rock band and country-pop superstar seeking to put the spotlight on suicide prevention and mental health awareness.

Mongolian folk-metal act The Hu have released an instrumental version of their 2019 debut album The Gereg, available to stream below.

All 12 tracks from the original album have been digitally remastered in Dolby Atmos, giving full clarity to the band’s musical prowess. The Hu assert that the instrumental version offers an “all-new listening experience” and emphasizes sonic layers that may have not been as apparent on the original vocal mixes of the songs.

“The Gereg album is the first album that introduced the Hunnu Rock genre to the world and introduced us to the world,” said the band in a collective statement. “In both the deluxe and the original album of our first album, we used many different instruments and pieces. From its opening landscape shot of a forest complete with moody voice on top, The Retaliators looks very good indeed. There is definitely an energy reminiscent of a heavy metal music video here, in both sound and visuals, but it works well with the theme and the tone of the movie. Directed by Samuel Gonzalez Jr. and Bridget Smith and penned by the team of Darren Geare and Jeff Allen Geare, this is a good old revenge flick and boy-oh-boy do I enjoy a revenge flick.

There is something very bitterly precise about this, something that looks you in the eye and doesn’t look away, a solid sledgehammer to the face in the guise of vengeance.

Merriam-Webster is nearly a 200-year-old company, so when the famed dictionary and encyclopedia publisher tweets something, we take its word at fact. And if Merriam-Webster is telling us that the individual words to the opening line of Papa Roach’s nu-metal anthem “Last Resort” make up the “Top Lookups Right Now,” we have no reason to doubt it.

On Monday (June 12th), Merriam-Webster tweeted (see below), “We’re not even mad; this is amazing,” alongside a chart of what appears to be the Top 10 words searched on the company’s dictionary site. The words, in order, are: “cut,” “my,” life,” “into,” “pieces,” “this,” “is,” “my,” “last,” “resort.”

Evanescence’s 2003 anthem “Bring Me to Life” famously features a rap-metal section. For a while, Amy Lee abandoned that part of the song during the band’s live shows, but lately she’s re-embraced it with the help of some notable vocalists.

For Evanescence’s rendition of “Bring Me to Life” at the Rock Am Ring festival in Germany on Saturday (June 3rd), the band tapped a nu-metal luminary who had performed earlier that day: Jacoby Shaddix of Papa Roach.

Shaddix was a natural fit — especially considering he helped pioneer the nu-metal rap style with Papa Roach — nailing the vocal part that was performed by Paul McCoy of 12 Stones on the original recording.

Last year, Lee recruited P.O.D. singer Sonny Sandoval to perform the rap section of “Bring Me to Life” during a few shows.

In Showtime's "Yellowjackets," the dream of '90s alt-rock is alive and well and snacking on a human ear in the Canadian wilderness. You could draw up a playlist for this show and it would be like tuning into your local alternative station, back when FM radio was more of a thing, too. They say the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. That certainly seems to be the case with Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix’s 18-year-old son Jagger, who joined the band onstage for a performance of the song “Dead Cell.”

The appearance took place during the band’s February 22nd show at Broadmoor World Arena in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The concert was part of Papa Roach’s “Rockzilla” tour, which also features co-headliners Falling in Reverse, as well as Hollywood Undead and Escape the Fate.

The band took to Instagram to post footage of Jagger’s appearance, billing it as the result of Jacoby losing a bet with his son. The clip shows Jagger delivering a high-energy rendition of “Dead Cell” alongside his dad.

The Used have announced a new album, Toxic Positivity, set for release on May 19th. The band has also unveiled the new single “People Are Vomit.”

Toxic Positivity is the ninth album from The Used, following up 2020’s Heartwork. “People Are Vomit” is actually the second single from the upcoming album, following the song “Fuck You,” which was released this past October.

“We think this song is fun and cute,” says singer Bert McCracken of the new single. “We hope you love it, too.”

The Used have a run of Australian tour dates with Papa Roach set for late April, with no other 2023 shows announced thus far. Ticket for the Australian gigs are available here.

After Jeff and Darren Geare’s younger sister was viciously assaulted and raped in 2004, it took 12 years for her rapist to be apprehended. Her attacker was finally found guilty and sentenced to 22 years in prison and the ordeal of the trial inspired the Geare brothers to write a script about a revenge-fantasy scenario for crime victims and their families. This concept combined with the Geare brothers’ love of genre film helped them create The Retaliators, which follows a pastor who experiences a tragedy that leads him to discover a bizarre, criminal underworld.

After sending the script to Michael Lombardi, who is well known for the series Rescue Me, Lombardi was cast as the pastor, John Bishop.

Exclusive: LA-based sales and distribution company Vmi Worldwide has picked up international distribution rights to the horror-thriller The Retaliators and will launch sales at the Toronto Film Festival.

The deal was negotiated by Jessica Bennett and Andre Relis of Vmi Worldwide and producer Michael Lombardi and Tiffany Boyle of Ramo Law on behalf of the filmmakers.

Horror-thriller “The Retaliators,” which features music from Mötley Crue and Papa Roach, has sold into CineLife and Trafalgar Releasing for North America.

The Better Noise Films-produced movie will be released in the U.S. and Canada by CineLife Entertainment, and via Trafalgar Releasing for the rest of the world. A worldwide theatrical release is planned for Sept. 14.

The release comes on the heels of a successful festival tour that saw premieres at London’s Arrow Video FrightFest and a U.S. premiere at Screamfest, where “The Retaliators” was the opening film. The pic screened at more than 25 festivals worldwide.

Exclusive: APA has boarded horror-thriller The Retaliators for domestic and international sales, following its world premiere at London’s Arrow Video FrightFest in August. The film, which is produced by Better Noise Films, will have its North American premiere as the Opening Night Film at Screamfest Horror Film Festival on October 12. It is also slated to screen at Australia’s Night of Horror, Fantasm’s Shock Reel Cinema Fest Orlando, Horrorthon Ireland, Russian International Horror Awards, Orlando Film Festival, and Germany Fantasy Film Festival. Directed by Samuel Gonzalez Jr. and Bridget Smith, The Retaliators follows the story of a broken pastor through unimaginable grief and his search for revenge. From its opening landscape shot of a forest complete with moody voice on top, The Retaliators looks very good indeed. There is definitely an energy reminiscent of a heavy metal music video here, in both sound and visuals, but it works well with the theme and the tone of the movie. Wayne Static, the solo metal artist and Static-x frontman, died late Saturday night. He was 48.

Static’s untimely death was announced on his Facebook page. “Platinum selling musician Wayne Richard Wells, better known as Wayne Static, passed away at the age of 48,” the statement read. “Wayne Static was the enigmatic former frontman and namesake of Static-x, who later forged a successful solo career. Wayne was scheduled to co-headline tours with Powerman 5000 and Drowning Pool over the next several months.

It added, “No additional information is available at this time.”

While no official cause of death has been released, Papa Roach frontman Jacoby Shaddix suggested that Static had died of a drug overdose in a tribute to the late musician on Instagram.

Papa Roach have been forced to drop off the Uproar Festival after Jacoby Shaddix was diagnosed with a nodule on his left vocal cord. He is undergoing surgery to remove it.

Paul Gray, the bassist of Grammy-winning metal band Slipknot, has been found dead at the age of 38. The rocker's dead body was found in a hotel room on Monday, May 24 by a hotel employee of Towneplace Suites, which is located in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines, Iowa where he and many of his band mates grew up.

Amy Sciarretto, a publicist at Slipknot's record company Roadrunner Records, has confirmed the death of the 38-year-old though refusing to give further detail. In the meantime, police said that there was no indication of foul play in Paul's death. An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday, May 25. A toxicology test will also be done to determine any contributing factors to his death.
