Branded as "One To Watch" by The Islander, British-born, Nigerian-raised Teniola Zara King, is a writer and director that recently graduated from the prestigious London Film School.
Teniola's career in TV and film started when she was employed as a Production Assistant on Africa's first late-night talk show, Highlites With IK, where she was quickly promoted to be the Line Producer of the show after only four months. After a year in this role, she also took on the job of Series Producer for M-Net TV Drama Series, Head Over Heels.
Hungry to acquire the skills and knowledge to create her own content, Teniola eventually resigned from her job to return to England to pursue a Masters in Filmmaking at the London Film School.
After two years of studying all aspects of the filmmaking process and working on countless short films in a variety of roles, Teniola decided to pursue the path of a writer and director. Her first short film Gidi High Life was shot in Lagos, Nigeria on the soil where her journey in the TV and Film industry began.
Teniola has just completed her latest short film "Teju's Tale" which is part of Unearthed Narratives a five-part short film series produced by DBK Studios in partnership with Sky Studios.
After completing her latest short film "Teju's Tale" produced by DBK Studios and Sky Arts, Teniola went on to Shadow Direct on Sky Original Drama, The Midwich Cuckoos. She is currently in the pre-production of her debut feature.
