Popular UK anchor Eamonn Holmes will reportedly use his live TV show on Monday morning to address his marital split from wife and longtime co-presenter Ruth Langsford.
The Sun on Sunday newspaper reported yesterday that it had the exclusive statement from the popular pair, confirming they were to separate after 14 years’ marriage. The statement said:
“Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.”
The same paper said Sunday that Holmes, who presents the weekly breakfast show on Gb News, will address the split to viewers when he appears next on air.
The Sun quoted a source close to Holmes, saying: “Eamonn is always frank on camera and knows it will be odd for him to discuss the day’s news without mentioning his split so he’ll say a few words.”

Back in February 2020, Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, the married couple who on Fridays presented long-running British morning magazine show This Morning, were the first to hug co-presenter Phillip Schofield live on air after he came out as gay to viewers, with the support of his co-presenter Holly Willoughby, all pictured.
Three years later and it’s a very different story, with Holmes blasting Schofield on social media, calling him “delusional” for claiming there to be no toxicity behind the scenes of ITV’s most important daytime show.
The ping-pong of conflicting accounts has been keeping entertainment journalists in the UK busy since Friday May 12, when Schofield stepped down from his role as the program’s lead presenter after 21 years at the helm. At the time, a rumored broken friendship with Willoughby was commonly cited as the reason, with ITV bosses praising him and saying he would continue to host other shows on the channel.

Rylan Clark has said that he can count his celebrity friends “on one hand”.
Appearing on Joe Lycett’s live Channel 4 show Late Night Lycett on Friday (7 April), Clark was asked by comedian Lycett to name his famous friends.
Admitting that he could “count them on one hand”, Clark listed Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes, as well as Claire Richards from Steps.
“They’re my little nook,” he said.
Lycett responded by joking that his celebrity fans could be counted on 10 fingers, one for each of the 10 members of the band Blazin’ Squad. To demonstrate this, he held up a prop hand with five extra fingers stuck onto the palm.
Clark has been vocal in the past about his love of Langsford and Holmes, who he worked with on This Morning.

Eamonn Holmes has expressed his frustration about his treatment in the media landscape as a “white man in his sixties” in a new interview.
The broadcaster, who is an anchor on the Gb News weekday morning programme Breakfast with Eamonn and Isabel, reflected on moments of his career in an episode of the podcast How to Be 60 with Kaye Adams.
Speaking about his exit from his Radio 5 programme in 2009, Holmes, 63, claimed that while his listenership ratings were “excellent”, an executive told him that the show was “attracting the wrong type of people”, and that they were pursuing a younger audience.
“You’re attracting older people, and we don’t want that,” Holmes claims he was told during a meeting with a production boss.
He continued his story by saying that he ended the meeting in an explicit fashion.

The presenter has previously spoken out against his former employer ITV, after leaving his role as a host of This Morning in 2021.
Speaking to co-host Isabel Webster on his Gb Newsprogramme on Wednesday (18 January), Holmes suggested it was sometimes “good not to like people” and “good to have revenge”.
The subject came up during a discussion about Shakira’s recent “diss track” aimed at the singer’s ex, Gerard Pique.
“You talk a good game about this,” Webster told Holmes, on the subject of revenge. “You do, you talk a good game about it but actually, all the people in your life that you’ve had ding dongs with in the past, you’re on great terms with now when I think about it.”

Rylan Clark has said that a visit from Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford when he was in hospital due to his depression proved to be a “wake-up call”.
Following his divorce from his former husband last year, the presenter took five months off work during which he struggled with depression and, at his lowest point, attempted suicide.

Two former stars of Gladiators have shared their concerns about the changes in the forthcoming reboot of the hit programme.
The high-energy physical competition, which originally aired in the 1990s, will return to screens in 2023.
The reboot will comprise 11 episodes airing on BBC and will include new games as well as fan favourite contest “The Eliminator”, the final challenge of a giant obstacle course.
To adhere to 21st-century safety standards, however, the show will include some modifications to ensure that all participants are as safe as possible.
On Friday’s (26 August) episode of BBC Breakfast, Gladiators Kim Betts and Sharron Davies, known to fans as Lightning and Amazon, spoke about the show’s revival.
While looking forward to a new version of the programme, both were intrigued about how producers would achieve the same levels of excitement with tighter safety regulations.

This Morning hosts Rylan Clark and Ruth Langsford branded the energy price cap “disgusting” in the latest episode of the daily TV show.
On Friday 26 August, the UK’s energy regulator Ofgem confirmed it was setting the new price cap at £3,549 from October, an 80 per cent rise.
There are now fears that the market for gas in winter will lead to “significantly worse” prices throughout 2023.
On the latest episode of This Morning, Rylan and Langsford spoke with money-saving expert Martin Lewis, who was visibly emotional over the latest news.
Lewis has warned that “people will die this winter” as a direct result of energy bills they cannot afford.
After the discussion, the co-hosts revealed they had received messages from viewers who assumed they had nothing to worry about because they have “loads of money”.

Much like the first royal wedding of the year, Eugenie's ceremony will take place at Windsor Castle, with royals and celebrities alike set to be in attendance.
Just like Prince Harry, Eugenie will be including Prince George and Princess Charlotte in her wedding party, but will she also follow in her cousin's footsteps and allow her wedding to be televised? On Tuesday, Oct. 2, ITV News confirmed that Eugenie's big day will be broadcast on ITV as part of a special edition of This Morning from Windsor, hosted by husband-and-wife team Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford. Starting at 11 a.m., viewers can tune in to the ceremony.

Gangster, killer, Aragorn ... Mortensen is not known for his comedy. But in new film Captain Fantastic, his grizzled deadpan is the funniest thing in a very funny film. But get him on to politics and prima donna colleagues, and he is deadly serious
Viggo Mortensen has just been on This Morning. Before his slot on the breakfast show, the actor sat backstage watching hosts Eamonn Holmes and Ruth Langsford present an item about children crying on planes. Eventually, the uncertain laughter of Holmes filled the studio. “But it’s Ok,” Mortensen went on, “because I always wear a helmet when I fly.”

Eamonn Holmes updated his will before his recent double hip replacement operation. The TV presenter and his 'This Morning' co-star wife Ruth Langsford were both fearful of him undergoing the operation and worried that he might not survive, although Ruth says she logically knows the risk was miniscule. She told Best magazine: ''We never voiced the fear of him not coming round from the anaesthetic, but we were both thinking it. But, logically, the risk is miniscule. ''We set up a meeting just before Christmas and suddenly it seemed very poignant. To be sitting there, saying things like, 'So, Eamonn, if you...

Burt Reynolds is facing backlash after making controversial remarks about Charlie Sheen's HIV-positive status.
In an interview on British talk show Loose Women that aired Tuesday, Reynolds was asked by host Ruth Langsford about Sheen's recent announcement that he's HIV-positive. Earlier in his career, Reynolds himself was the subject of rumors of an HIV diagnosis. (Reynolds said in November that his way to combat the rumors was to "just keep working.")
"He's handled it badly, I think," Reynolds, 79, said. "His father is a very, very decent man and a dear friend of mine. I feel bad for him but Charlie,...

The singer appeared via satellite today (September 11) to discuss his current bankruptcy and divorce, but their questions didn't go down very well.
When asked about his current financial situation, he said: "Are you just trying to rubbish me? Is that just the purpose of your interview with me?"
Langsford followed up by asking if his fans had been supportive through his recent troubles.
"What are you asking me now?" he responded. After interjecting with another question, he snapped: "Wait, wait, wait, wait, wait! Don't interrupt me."

This Morning users thought they saw Eamonn Holmes telling a producer where to stick it today (July 23).
The veteran presenter appeared to flick the 'V' sign at a producer offscreen during a segment on ITV, a gesture that seemingly went unnoticed by his guests and wife Ruth Langsford.
Sadly, the incident was apparently just Holmes engaging in some technical speak with his producers, and he just happened to have a grumpy face on, or so he says.
He explained: "Apparently because of the way the interview was shot, you picked up on a bit of studio language going on, and apparently people mistaking and not understanding... technical jargon.
"And me doing this [gestures with two fingers], that means camera two, and this means two [people] on a two, just to put you out of your misery if you're wondering and thought it was something more Harvey Smith inclined... and we've now got two on a [camera] four.
