Was supposed to have a solo musical career but canceled it when her record label dismissed her work as "too noir". She reunited her alternative rock band Garbage for a new album called "Not Your Kind of People". Garbage self-released the album on their new independent label, Stun Volume Records.

Has reported that she used to cut herself as a teenager, even keeping a Swiss Army Knife in her boots, and has since used her celebrity status to bring awareness to the dangers of self-mutilation.

She dropped out of high school at 16. Since then, she has been in bands such as 'Autumn 1904', Wild Indians, Goodbye Mr Mckenzie and Angelfish.

As of 2009, Lulu, Sheena Easton, and Manson (singing with Garbage) are the only Scottish artists to have sung 007 title songs, respectively: The Man with the Golden Gun (1974), For Your Eyes Only (1981), and The World Is Not Enough (1999). Ironically, neither movie featured fellow-Scot Sean Connery as James Bond.
